Freaky modern crimpers they are. Boak.

ClaraDeLaNoche Mon 22-Oct-12 14:40:28

Boke. Looks rotten. Now if only they could do the Downton waves.

And she has such beautiful hair before she used that thing on it.

When that video started I was like "what are they on about, I want hair like that!"- turns out that was the before shot. Anyone who thinks crimping is a good look needs their head examined!

I have one of these and I LOVE it!!! Every time I do my hair people comment on how nice it looks!!!

I bought some of these and found them to be crimpers in disguise. My hair never looked so bad! Threw them away.

GeetTallBird Thu 25-Oct-12 21:12:29

I have discovered how to get 40's starlet hair, a bit downton-esque..if that helps?
I bought the mark hill rock chick wave wand today, tonged my hair all over and brushed through, I'm so so impressed and it takes a lot to impress me.

Moodykat Thu 25-Oct-12 22:29:24

I really want some of these. Are they really just crimpers? I've seen the videos but am trying to persuade myself I'll get the lovely wavey hair I've always wanted.

MissMogwi Thu 25-Oct-12 23:16:29

I said the same to my sister earlier today. Our mum used to crimp our hair in the 80's and it looked very similar-a right mess. grin

I expected naice glam waves at the end, not school disco flashbacks.

My DD scornfully told me it's 'in', but I wouldn't know as I'm too old.

Moodykat, I have put a pic on my profile of my hair done with these. I love them!! I have really straight hair normally, but these give me lovely wavy hair.

I love your hair in the pics, Hippy. Very mermaid-ish; I am so bored of over straightened hair.

squoosh Fri 26-Oct-12 16:24:51

GeetTallBird what is your hair like in it's natural state? That rock wand sounds quite tempting.

LOL I looked just like that ad. In 1985. No desire to look that way again! (Hippy you have beautiful hair tho!)

Moodykat Fri 26-Oct-12 18:00:12

Hippy, it does look lovely. Maybe I should take the plunge.

DoubleLifeIsALifeHalved Fri 26-Oct-12 21:49:08

I was going to write EXACTLY what mrsWolowitz wrote & feel cheated out of a teacher pet slightly stalker ish moment. Pouts.

squoosh Fri 26-Oct-12 21:54:18

Is hair crimping a thing again?

Hippychickster Sat 27-Oct-12 09:21:59

Crikey! Thanks for the compliments!

I bought one of these on offer in Tesco for my chin length poker straight hair in an attempt to look like a girl at work with lovely cool wavy hair

I looked like I'd stuck a finger in the electric socket, packaged them back up and got a refund blush

Conflugenglugen Sun 28-Oct-12 10:14:18
