Hello MN ers

Im really into beauty and make up but as i don't earn a salary anymore and rarely have time for a long skincare routine in the evenings I'm looking for some of those magic skincare products that don't cost much but really work.

I used to use Clarins , Eve Lom , all the pricey stuff, but if you ladies can give me some cheaper recommendations that would be great......!! Thanks Xxx

I find my skin looks its best when I use plain old aqueous cream for washing/cleansing - you can get a big tub for about £3 ish from Boots, Superdrug and places like that.

Lately I've been moisturising with Astral cream (like your Nan would use!) because the central heating has just gone back on and it plays havoc with my skin. I usually use anything I can grab, Clarins, Soap&glory, Nivea, anything really, but Astral has made a massive improvement to my skin. It is very heavy though so prob best as a night cream.

Astral is only a couple of £ as well.

Aldi do an amazing skin serum. Can't go wrong with Simple wipes as basic make up remover IMO.

Forgot to add, you can get cheaper versions of cleanse & polish as well. Tesco, Superdrug and Soap & Glory are all just as good as the real one - S&G the better of the three though IMO.

Boots botanics facial oil is lovely. I use in place of a night cream on alternate nights. Great price and smells lovely too.

Hey thanks everyone. I've heard the lidl stuff is good, might try that first!!! It's amazing what damage lack of sleep can do to your skin!!!!!

second the soap and glory face polish - very small particles whereas the others seem to be more harsh. its awesome and a little goes a long way

Nivea hand and body cream - is currently half price in Superdrug and i love it.

My face is very dry, a bit sensitive but also prone to getting a bit greasy and spotty.

The Nivea Soft range is great, cheap and smells divine here

I also found (I am not a rep for Nivea I swear!) their tinted moisturiser is brilliant and under a fiver! It is light, non streaky, not orange, just right for me also on offer at Superdrug

I have used all the top brands in the past, my budget will not stretch that far.

Seriously, Nivea is the way forward hopes to get some form of gift from Nivea for bigging up their products

I just use Boots essentials. Find its kinder on my skin and does the job.

I'm a big fan of Nivea too, I use the Q10 day and night creams, they are around £10 BUT always seem to be on offer in Boots and Sainsbury's as buy one get one free - I've never paid full price for them.
