I'm looking for a vintage style dress - thinking 40s or 50s in style (I've got Sophia Loren in mind).

I've found this one and it's close, but not exactly right. I was just wondering if you had any ideas where I could look?

Thanks in advance

Anything at Collectif catch your eye?

Now Dita (I have recently become a little obsessed Ms Von Teese and on Saturday had my hair done by a vintage hair stylist smile ) I have also found some beautiful dresses on Vivienne of Holloway - but they are a little bit pricey (this is a special occasion, but not a really special occasion).

Hetaera - I will check out Collectif.

Thank you for your replies.

Northumberlandlass check out this website - I have revolutionised my diet, my training and shape in a very short space of time and it's healthy. When is your birthday?

Northumberlandlass Sat 20-Oct-12 11:27:24

Thanks Witha - I exercise quite a bit. Have decent diet etc - will check it out. I've lost over 4stone in the last 2 years sensibly & feel pretty good. It's the toning I need now smile

Notthumberlandlass - I've been looking at that dress for a long time and may take the plunge for an upcoming dinner dance I'm going to . How is sizing ? Also is it very cleavagey(sp) ?
Love it though but can't decide between black or red . Black is safer and will probably get more wear but the red is show stopping!

mirpuppet Sat 20-Oct-12 18:26:53

Go for the show stopper

Northumberlandlass Sat 20-Oct-12 18:53:12

It's not that cleavagey really- i am a 14/16 and went for L (14) as someone on here said it would suck me in (material is amazing) - but i've had to exchange for XL as it was too fitted and I wouldn't of been comfortable. The XL still sucks me in as it's that type of dress.

I'm 6ft tall and it sits just on my knee rather than just below.

It's a beautiful cut, the material is lovely. i'm really pleased with it! smile

I've got the red one. Its not orangey red though, it's really rich!
