I need to get this necklace asap. It is 5mm width and 46cm or 18" length. I have searched online but have had no luck...I am not even sure if the chain is Byzantine style or something else. Please help if you can!!

(You've probably guessed, this necklace was a gift and I lost it sad. The photo is of a sibling's necklace...we were given the same. sad

Picture on my profile.

No-one can help without you making your pictures public.

mrscumberbatch Thu 18-Oct-12 19:50:55

Yup, not viewable by mumsnetters.

Is it a heavy interwoven chain link? That's what Byzantine is.

slinkyboo Thu 18-Oct-12 21:01:49

Sorry...will try and make them public right now.

slinkyboo Thu 18-Oct-12 21:03:36

Has that worked??

LovelyMarchHare Thu 18-Oct-12 21:04:29

nope!

LFCisTarkaDahl Thu 18-Oct-12 21:08:30

Yes, looks like one I saw in the Argos catalogue (not trying to be rude, sorry if its posher) - can't link on my phone, will go and have a look.

slinkyboo Thu 18-Oct-12 21:10:21

I don't mind where it's from as long as it's the same...thank you LFC (fingers crossed)...

LFCisTarkaDahl Thu 18-Oct-12 21:11:01

It's called a Gold anchor chain on the website.

slinkyboo Thu 18-Oct-12 21:13:43

Thank you but the one I have lost is silver...sorry if it's not clear in the photo. I've looked at the chains on Argos online and can't see it. Although I don't know exactly where it came from, it was likely to be a decent jeweller...thank you anyway.

Shoshe Thu 18-Oct-12 21:25:44

is this it ?

NorthernNumpty Thu 18-Oct-12 21:38:52

Can't link as a pain on my phone but something similar on two sites

None of them are right sad
But thank you for taking the time to search and post.

I think it might be the multilink chain- although it's a bad picture on this link.

might be it

BessieMcBean Fri 19-Oct-12 01:12:42

this is a byzantine one

The multilink chain is closer, but mine did not separate like that one does, if that makes sense.

I can't believe this is so hard! I really don't know what else to do, short of taking the remaining necklace to a jeweller and asking them to copy it. Goodness knows how much that would cost. Oh dear sad I hate losing things and I hardly ever, ever do it! (Moan emoticon).

The catch on this one is different but the necklace looks similar?

I am coming back to this thread just to say thank you thanks to everyone who tried to help me - and I have good news! I FOUND THE NECKLACE!! grin I had put it in a stupid careful place and forgotten all about it...rather like a imbecile squirrel blush. I am very relieved!

mrscumberbatch Fri 16-Nov-12 13:52:41

Even better! Saved you some money by finding it as well lol. Glad to hear the outcome grin
