Grey knee boots

I'd like to get some flat grey knee high leather boots this winter, to hopefully go with khaki and blue jeans and also smart enough to wear with work skirts/dresses when commuting.

I like these and would usually not mind spending that money on boots, but I really don't have much spare cash at the moment so would rather find something cheaper!

these from La Redoute

The 25% off code in the top left corner of the website doesn't work for this range Angry

I feel like I've looked at every shoe website going - can anyone suggest anything? Must be leather [fussy].

Thanks!

They seem very expensive. They do not even have a make do they? I do like the style though and shall watch with interest as I would love a nice flat Grey pair

The make is 'Cyrillus' which I've never heard of! (It says it on the browsing page).

Can anyone suggest alternatives please? Thanks

Hi October! I have found these from G star on Amazon and there is a 20% off code too valid until 24th Oct. I'm very tempted, what do you think?

Would prefer a zip though, do they look like wellies?

There are grey DM boots with a zip. I think they are called Elena.

I prefer the G-star, they're really nice! You'd have to see whether they flapped round your calves though - as long as they fit properly they won't look welly-like.

Thanks, I've googled the Elena but not too keen on the sole of it, although it does look comfy!

My calves are quite slim but it's difficult to tell how they fit by looking online. I will sleep on it and probably buy them in the morning

Hi Tricot,

The first link isn't working, but am impressed that you can get a suede boot for £25! Unfortunately I'm not keen on suede as I live in the North West and it's always raining, so they wouldn't last 5 minutes. They also only have limited sizes but good suggestions.

I got my non-leather, brilliant flat grey kneeboots from Kryshia for £35! I don't think they have them any more but look at the website if you want, I think their footwear is a good price generally

Thanks milkybar, you've got me looking at clothes too now!

The footwear does look nice but I still think I'd like leather, as I've always had leather boots and they do tend to last well. Leather just doesn't usually come cheap Sad

Still tempted by the g-star boots.

I finally gave in and ordered the G Star boots and they arrived this evening.

I'm so disappointed!

I ordered two sizes to ensure at least one would fit. They are just too baggy around my ankle and calf and do look a bit welly like. They don't come up to my knee, and I'm only 5ft 2 so did expect them too. They have absolutely no ankle support because they're too baggy. I do have slim calfs (calves?!) but not particularly skinny.

The leather is also thinner than I expected and not worth the money, even with the 20% discount I got. My Fly Mistry (mumsnet Blush) boots are much better quality for similar money.

So now I still have no grey boots, and will embark on a shopping trip to real life shops at the weekend to see what I can see. If anyone wants to direct me to anywhere I may not have thought to go to, then that would be great as I feel like I've exhausted the internet!

Or should I just go to Clarks and be done with it?! Grin
