Do you look younger blonde or brunette ?

Am trying to decide if I want to have highlights again.
My issue is no matter how much I spend they never seem to look good when I do my hair at home, stunning when I leave the salon blow dried though.
I also wonder if you should wear your hair shorter if it's been bleached so it doesnt look like old straw.
Anyone taken the plunge recently ?

Blonde is a colour of youth and skin doesn't need anything to cast shadows as you age
Lighter around face but not necessarily blonde

I look so much younger with darker hair. However, some people definitely look younger blonde. It depends on your skin tone, or something.

I went for a colour consultation and they said I was both cool and warm, how helpful [rollseyes]
I think what I really want is to loose two stone but am after a quick cheer me up fix

I think you look younger the closer you stay to your natural colour, I have dyed my red hair dark brown since my early 20s. I went blonde in the summer, and last week I dyed my hair red again, almost exactly my natural shade, maybe a shade or two brighter and I look younger than I did blonde or brunette, in fact, I've had loads of compliments, more than I did as a blonde.

I have never dyed my hair blonde. I have dark brown hair so I think going blonde would be a bad mistake!

No it was at the hairdresser they put drapes around you to see if you are cool or warm and concluded I was both

Last time I went blonde it was long and shaggy which was a mistake. I do have dark brown hair but I think warm tones might work

In general I'd stick quite closely to that. Blonde if you are used to being blonde even if it has faded. Stay dark if dark.

Yep I think Jennifer Aniston is a good example of someone who is better a bit darker, not too blonde.
