Could you recommend a moisturiser please?

I want thirst-quenching, plump-making stuff! I'm 30 with normal-to-dry skin that always feels 'thirsty'. My skin's in good condition and I don't suffer from any issues or breakouts. I'm noticing occasional lines on my nose and feel my skin could do with plumping up. I've just finished a tube of Olay 7 Total Effects SPF. It was fine but nothing special on my skin (although it gets great results for others). My budget is around £30 and my main need is something very thick and plumping. Thanks!

I'm going to keep an eye on this thread as I am looking for a new moisturizer too.

I recently used Soap and Glory 21 day cream after reading some reviews and loved it. Very thick (plus it smells lovely)

I am 31 and have similar issues. The other day I bought a pot of Steam Cream in Tesco, you can get it from Asos and the company website as well. About 12 quid I think. It is really creamy, melts in to your skin and smells kind of lavender-y. Is multi purpose so designed for face, hands and body. It really seems to be doing the job so far...

I'm 36 with normal/dry skin. I've recently started using oilatum natural repair face cream. It's £7 from boots www.boots.com/en/Oilatum-Natural-Repair-Face-Cream_9627/

It's not glamorous nor does it promise anti ageing etc but I love it. Before this I was using Simple creams (I use their wipes and face wash) but they weren't moisturising enough for me.

liz earle stuff is meant to be good, though i bought the wrong one (superskin) which is for older dry skins and it gave me spots

Have found Ren moisturizers good. Just bought Olay Regenerist after seeing reviews on Paula Begoun.

i have just bought the loreal triple active day, was on offer for £4, and it's really lovely for an everyday.

my skin is 43 yrs old, dry and getting bit wrinkled and honestly the stuff goes a long way, you can keep on massaging it in for ages.

have bought loads over the yrs, it's a minefield isn't it.

It's a cheaply but I think it is fantastic - Aldi's shimmering Day moisturiser in a pump dispenser type bottle. Makes my skin look a million times better.

Regenerist is much, much nicer than the total effects stuff IMO, really does plump your skin.

For thirsty skin, slather weekly in Nivea thick cream overnight. Feels ridiculously thick and greasy on, but by morning my skin is supersoft, quenched and balanced.

Your skin sounds similar to mine and I swear by Keihl's Ultra Facial Cream, it's about £24 for a 50ml pot that lasts for ages (I switch to the lighter ultra facial moisturiser in the summer). It's really quenching and not oily, plus no wrinkles showing!

When I was in my mid 30's I started using Elemis pro-collagen marine cream. It is expensive but wow for my skin. Am 47 now and people often remark on how unlined my skin is. When I hit 43 I needed something that was a bit more heavy duty and now use Gatineau melatogenine which is superb. Don't forget neck cream - Clarins is excellent and I just found a great less expensive one from M&S.

Alfa has beaten me to it, Dermalogica is great stuff. Will come in round about your budget, but may last a bit longer, as it tends to go a long way.

I'm 38 years old and I swear my skin has never been as good as it is at the moment. I have switched all my skin care products to Soap and Glory and basically, its the best thing I could have done. Have really noticed a difference and have also been getting lots of compliments too.

They have loads of different products so I would suggest just seeing what suits you best but I use the Make yourself youthful eye cream and the face serum. They also do a great night cream called something like Night in shining armour. I would also recommend their various face washes and scrubs as they are great too. I also use their Glow Job product as a tinted moisturizer.

I got some of their products for my mum but she didn't like the smell so its not for everyone but I personally think they are great and I think the smell is yummy too!

it sounds to me that you need a regular moisturizing mask, as well as your normal cream. Try "Time reversal face mask" by Santuary (from Boots). Twice a week and it makes a real difference.

Agree that Sanctuary products are very good too. Recently bought my Mum the facial in a box as a gift and she said it was lovely on her skin.

This Body shop one and indeed the whole range has totally changed my skin and I have used a lot of brands.

If you go in they wil give you a free sample so you can try before you buy, but it really is lovely, very thick, very plumping, but not at all greasy.
