How gopping is this exactly? Do they share designers with Per Una?

NellyBluth Wed 10-Oct-12 21:37:27

Christ, that made my eyes hurt...

There was a thread about them a few weeks back. Apparently LTS invited some MNers to try on and review their clothing - there were a few takers, if I remember correctly. I wonder if it went ahead?

WarmFuzzyFun Thu 11-Oct-12 08:30:38

That for forty quid! Wow, who buys this stuff?

QuinnFabray Thu 11-Oct-12 09:14:51

I quite like it. Have you seen all the loud floral prints in the shops recently?

MissPerception Thu 11-Oct-12 10:12:58

Ha ha...horrible but I suppose someone with bad taste will buy it.

Back2Two Thu 11-Oct-12 10:15:37

I' m not long, tall or Sally but. I think if it was on a model with maybe skinny jeans and boots it could look ok

Poledra Thu 11-Oct-12 10:22:44

Well, your link no longer works - I'm getting a message saying they've moved something on the website so it can't find the page I'm looking for grin

LTS have strange sizing now, I find. They advertise themselves for women from 5'10'' and up. I'm 5'10'' with a 32" inside leg. I cannot buy trousers from LTS as they are too long (shortest is 34"). The only thing I buy from them now is pyjamas, as it's difficult to find long leg PJs, and I don't mind my PJ legs being a bit long.

valiumredhead Thu 11-Oct-12 12:36:49

LTS used to be great but over priced. Now I rarely bother even looking.

valiumredhead Thu 11-Oct-12 12:41:27

This is worse imo!

ATourchOfInsanity Thu 11-Oct-12 12:46:34

It's so frustrating that anyone over 5ft 7 has such limited choice! Our Top Shop has about 6 items in it's Tall section (roughly the same as for maternity) and I don't want to buy something I've never seen from Next Tall range catalogue. Why can't the actual shops realise a lot of us are taller or would prefer jumpers that don't sit above our wrists?
Sorry, bit ranty, but really think LTS has a market they could do more with and would prefer it if they could keep the prices realistic too

purplehouse Thu 11-Oct-12 12:46:35

I have to shop there otherwise I would be naked grin

The top you linked to is awful and is the sort of thing that ends up heavily marked down in the sales. I have bought one top there recently but it's totally plain so can't go too far wrong.

It is expensive and there are loads of awful items. Apparently they sell in US/Canada and most of their stock they can't sell here does sell over there. They used to have warehouse sales in Croydon but they have stopped as they shift the old stock overseas now.

It is really disappointing, I can't shop anywhere else and have very few items f clothing!

valiumredhead Thu 11-Oct-12 12:49:24

LTS used to be great though - good quality classic items, I used to save up for items as I knew that would last and I would always be able to find something nice there whatever the occasion ( 15 odd years ago)

I've been to the warehouse in Croydon many moons ago.

Looks crap now <sigh>

Northumberlandlass Thu 11-Oct-12 13:16:10

Hey - I was on the thread a few weeks ago! Got a PM from LTS asking if I was interested in going into a store to chat/ talk about styles etc.

I have replied saying I would love just waiting to hear back.

If I do go...would anyone like to give me feedback to pass on?

Grumpla Thu 11-Oct-12 13:20:11

Please tell them that I am tall, not colourblind.

Also that tall does NOT mean skinny and flat-chested! I really struggle to fit my admittedly quite massive boobs into anything they sell that is not made of stretchy fabric.

Poledra Thu 11-Oct-12 13:23:58

NL can you ask them if they'll consider reinstating their 32" inside leg trousers? Also, I seem to recall they used to do trousers with a raw edge at the bottom, so you could take up the hem to the right place yourself - that was a mighty fine idea too...

valiumredhead Thu 11-Oct-12 13:24:47

Oh yy - tall does not equate ironing board thin.

A while back they did introduce more generous sizing but then stopped <sigh>

Poledra Thu 11-Oct-12 13:28:42

Oh, and as a suggestion - why bother selling PJs as a set (though this goes for lots of retailers)? Why not sell the tops and bottoms separately as many women are different sizes top and bottom so sets are useless? I had to return the PJs my MIL bought me from LTS for Christmas, as the top fitted but the bottoms were too big. (The Customer Service were great about this, BTW, and as they had very few PJs left, gave me a credit note which I've just spent last month on some lovely PJs).

Northumberlandlass Thu 11-Oct-12 13:29:32

Yes of course ! I'll make a MN List smile

What I would like from LTS is affordable fashion & good quality basics. I looked in their catalogue last night and their 'essential' workwear trousers were still £50.

I agree on colours/patterns.

I'm not iron board thin - I'm chunky curvacious 6 footer !

Keep em' coming

Kopparbergkate Thu 11-Oct-12 13:34:11

I second the tall does not equal straight-up-and-down figure comment.I have (admittedly huge!) boobs and I've given up buying tops or dresses in LTS ever. They are NEVER shaped for anyone but the flat-chested.

and Bravissimo are shaped for the enormous of boob but short (or at least shorter than 5'7")

valiumredhead Thu 11-Oct-12 13:34:34

Definitely need to lower their prices imo, I don't actually mind paying for really good quality but they aren't any better quality than M and S imo.

Really need some more basics too.

BeatTheClock Thu 11-Oct-12 13:37:16

Agree agree with Valiumredhead. I just don't bother looking at LTS these days.

Grumpla Thu 11-Oct-12 13:40:07

So glad it's not just me with the boob issues.

I would say the actual sizes are about right - but the shape...What am I meant to be, a size 16 and completely cylindrical?!?!

thenightsky Thu 11-Oct-12 13:41:23

Ordered three tops from them last week. Every single one has to go back. Shapeless sacks. In the website pics they look lovely and shaped and fitted, so I think there is some sneaky pinning and altering for photoshoots.

BeatTheClock Thu 11-Oct-12 13:44:54

I've always thought they take whatever in generally in fashion and somehow frumpify itconfused

Agree also about not being stick thin just cos someone is 'tall'<if onlysadhmm>
