I had never heard of Haramaki before I saw them mentioned on a thread on here a couple of weeks ago, but now I am an absolute convert! It is so warm and cosy and you don't even feel you have an extra layer on. I can't remember the M'netter who recommended them but thankyou to whoever it was!

Is it not just the same as wearing a tight vest? Tell me more! Grin

No not at all scentednappyhag! I thought the same as you before I got mine and I was worried it would feel like tight shapewear but its just the opposite. Mine is made from lovely soft jersey material which just sits comfortably over my waist and hips. It doesnt roll down and all I can feel is a lovely warm feeling round my middle.

Hmm, I'm tempted as I'm a proper chilly mortal! Can you link to where you got yours?

Where did you get it from?

I got mine from here www.ukiyo-go.co.uk/
They are handmade and worth every penny, in my opinion! I work in a school and spend a lot of time on outdoor provision or playground duty and it certainly gives me a lovely warm glow round my middle.

Pretty reasonably price too if they're that good! Hmm, I think this might have made my 'stick to the fridge and point DH at regularly' list Grin

I'm sure it would go over a bump berri as the material is very soft and stretchy!

Would you recommend you buy your normal size? Or do they come up a bit big or small?

This is so weird, I am sitting here feeling very chilly round the middle, and what do I click on? Serendipity! Thank you so much, haramaki ladies!

Do you have a single layer, or a double? Is the double thick to wear under clothes?

hi
I have several that I bought from Nuku Nuku www.nukunuku.co.uk/ and they are great. I too had never heard of them. I love not feeling like a 'Michelin Man' as layering over the bust doesn't agree with my shape or clothes so well. I also like cycling in it and I often pop it on / or off depending on when I am outside post exercise etc (really easy to remove while fully clothed which is a bonus and I like layering it over the top of a denim skirt of jeans too for a bit of extra colour when I feel like it. Definitely well worth it. I have pretty poor circulation (due to endometriosis) and I feel it keeps my middle warm and the circulation going better too.
