Tangle Teaser brush - worth the money?

I have a DD with almost bottom length hair, she refuses to get it cut but screams blue murder when I brush it.

Are these brushes worth £10+?

I mean, do they work? If they do its well worth £10.

Yes they do! I use mine for mine and DDs hair. Very fast and less split ends. Have had mine for years since I saw the bloke on Dragons' Den.

Oh, my mum just bought my DD one of these, it does make it much easier. Can't work out why though but I've never seen or read anything about it. Didn't realise it was so expensive, Oophs!

Yes, they are my main brush. I have one in the shower for brushing through conditioner, one for general styling and a mini handbag one. They are my brush of preference. Although don't use intensivelt with a hairdryer - they are plastic and will melt!

I have long, very dry highlighted hair... it is in BAD condition so I only use a comb and lots of conditioner and am really careful or it just breaks off. Anyway, I went ot Tony and Guy to get my roots done, I always ask to comb it myself when wet otherwise they tend to drag a brush through it and I can see it all breaking off!

So, one day the hairdresser said use this tangle teaser and I said no thanks, she said 'just try it' and it was amazing, I have no idea how it works but it just glides through the hair without pulling or damaging it and it bloody brilliant!

I really suggest getting one. Great on my DDs long curly hair too.

dd1 has thick shirley temple curls... it works. having said that we only brush it once a week, when there is conditioner in her hair.

I ummed and aahed before deciding to buy the Tangle Teezer. Ultimately decided to use my Boots points, as a tenner still seemed too much to pay for a brush.

DD has thick, shoulder length hair and yes, it makes it easier to brush out the kinks. Takes as much time with a normal comb, but it doesn't hurt her so much, IYSWIM. Not sure how it would work for really long hair, guessing you would have to start at the bottom and work your way up.

Wouldn't call it revolutionary, but it does make life a whole lot easier. Definitely buy it if doing hair in the morning is a major struggle. It was with mine....

Worked very well on dd's long hair. Bought mine from a Sally Beauty warehouse. Didn't pay that much for it IIRC. Members of the public can go to these, and they are national. Good time to stock up on other stuff, industrial sized packs of face mask etc.

Don't know if it is Tangle Teaze branded, maybe a generic version, but tis the same as far as I can see!

Totally. DD has mega curly hair and its the only way I can brush it without hurting her.

Works for us. I have a three year old with ridiculously thick hair and she wails if I come anywhere near her with any other brush but will sit quite happily while I use the tangle teaser. It takes longer than a normal brush for us though as it struggles with the thickness so I need to do it in lots of small sections.

Oh yes! Totally works. Dd's mass of ringlets would be a nightmare without it. A friend recommended it, and I couldn't believe how much easier it made brushing dd's hair.

Didn't work for us. My daughter has very fine hair but lots of it so gets very knotty. Was recommended the teaser brush by the hairdresser but she found it pulled just as much as a normal brush. We now use a child's Mason Pearson which does a better job imo.

Worth it! I use one as have long fine knot-prone hair, and rather than spend ages gently untangling it I just brush and it's done. I use it on DD too, although her hair is very short still.

It worked for us while DD's hair was thinner but as it thickened out as she got older it stopped working, now we use the tangle tamer (link and it works really well.

I bought one to use on DD's curly tangled mop, it's brilliant.
I have also bought another one to use on my long haired GSD and my ragdoll cat who are both prone to getting matted bits in their coats, or rather they were until I started using a tangle teaser on them.

Not great here, DD has a shoulder length bob that isn't even curly and it tugs and hurts on her ends, she much prefers a wide tooth comb. The TT is great for running over it afterwards though, gives a really smooth finish.

Yes, yes, yes...Our DD has very fine hair and you wouldn't think it could get so knotty but it does. You have to go for it even with a Tangletease but DW did 300 brushes the other day and annihilated every last knot.....

Our DD is a very sensitive 'princess' and everything is a major 'ow' so this has made hair brushing a lot less stressful for the entire houshold...

Brilliant on dd's shoulder length mixed race hair. I still have to section the hair to brush it as she has so much of it but its so much easier than with other combs or brushes and somehow breaks down the knots and matted bits without pulling out her hair.
