Baaaaaa, over here.
I'll go first-
Best- coloured skinny h& m cords/ jeans, and a slouchy grey jumper from whistles, the bird print scarf from eBay sorted out 7 ( yes, seven) birthday presents in july- have to hope they aren't all wearing them in the same room at once, hush harem pants. It's made me think about CPW items , do the Wendy's look book tuck too and currently try out Paula's choice skincare...

Worst- made me furtively browse £££ websites that I never would have dreamt about and spend over £100 on ankle boots ( which are luverly tho)...
Stupidest/ most useless purchase was salicylic peel reccd on the sizzlers thread
What about you?

Best- topshop baxters, mighty boots and reminding me I loved Zara and TK maxi
Worst no doubt about it the mums net haircut. Not once but twice!!!!! I blame it on having a newborn and not being able to see that I would ever leave the house again! Thankfully it grows back......eventually

Best - gave me the confidence in general to buy far fewer and better clothes

Worst - BBH. Not a bad product, but my hair is already smooth an straight, so I'm not sure what I thought it would do...

Best:

  • Estee Lauder Double Wear
  • Sudocrem facial
  • Hydro acid from the Sizzlers thread
  • 2 pairs of brown leather boots from New Look online, mysteriously reduced from £70-90 per pair to £10 per pair ( :D )
  • Aussie shampoo, conditioner and leave-in conditioning spray

    Worst:
  • Waitrose baby bottom butter as moisturiser... It was actually very good for me, but I couldn't stand the smell (despite my tolerance for a face full of Sudocrem).

Best: the MN scarf which I have in brown and grey, and really like

Worst, by quite some way: that nasal-hair stripping £3.99 perfume from Lidl.

Best - Merrell Oslo boots for £45.
Worst - Liz Earle face stuff. Smells horrible, expensive and no better than Boots own.

Best- tie between MUA ( everything I have tried is a winner and I've bought lots) and the pound shop hair turban ( which has made life loads easier for my 6 year old with waist length hair )
Worst- the horrid ( indeed nasal hair stripping) Lidl perfume which is so much the nastiest smelling thing that I have ever bought....but given money I have saved elsewhere I am not so upset.

Worst was mumsnet haircut

Oo and smearing my gob with bum butter ( grr) at that point though the air con in my office was like working on the North Face of the Eiger and I would have fallen for anything

Best.. knowing other mums wear decent clothes and getting some ideas here

Worst was mineral make up. Wasted 60 quid and hours watching you tube tutorials and still looked like I'd been caked in powder.

Best:

Merrell Wakefield coat
Silk Warehouse top
Blue crepe Warehouse party dress

The existance of Zara!
Babyliss Big Hair
101 ways to tie a scarf
Giving up my waterfall cardi and mum boots

Best - Uniqlo cords
Worst - BBH (still have it if anyone wants to buy it). I have long thick hair and have no problems styling it so not sure why I bought this. Sizzling did nothing for me either.

Worst - Bare Escuntuals. I looked like a dried up old river bed. A flawless river bed, agreed, but river bed nonetheless.

Sudocrem as a primer. That really doesn't work.

Best - linked things on sale. Pistols and Marant heels (a car dash to a pop up sale in Wimbledon Village for those). Love them.

All good here too. Nearly got the bbh, glad I didn't.

Best: Coconut oil for my ridiculously thick frizzy wavy hair.

Worst: Without doubt the MN haircut. Should come with an Instant Frump? warning.

Best-plopping for my curly hair, a revelation. Mineral makeup, oddly doesn't look powdery on my, and I have very, very dry skin.
Worst - BBH. I have lots and lots of curly long hair. It does nothing for me.

Where on earth did you get the Merrell Oslo boots for £45 Dexter? I neeeed some

I got the M&S Jeggings in 3 different colours after a recommendation on here and they are great. Had never bought any clothing from M&S for me before as always thought of it as an old lady shop.

Coconut Oil as a hair treatment is working wonders on my dry mop.

Also a method of applying concealer under the eyes in a triangle shape that I read about on here is very effective at covering shadows.

Best - the Merrell Wakefield coat

Worst - Bobbi Brown under eye corrector-concealer-powder kit- spent over £100 (inc a brush) and can never get it right and it takes too long. So another best would be the By Terry touche veloutee for under eyes, easy and looks good (tho is £££).

Worst - skinny jeans. They just don't suit me. Fashionable or unfashionable, they just look crap on me. And crap with the rest of my clothes too, which turn out to all be the wrong shape and length to wear with said skinny jeans.

Best:
Merrell Haven
Uniqlo cords
Topshop Mighty boots
MUA and Sleek makeup

Worst:
Oil cleansing - too much of a gaff, so have gone back to my beloved Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish (which I found before I joined MN)
