It is everywhere in the shops and I have picked up (and put down again) some animal print tops. What do people think? Too Bet Lynch for someone my age?

my daughter won't be seen with me when I'm wearing it though

Yuk! Although IMO thereare degrees of scaryness with leopard print at the top, followed by snake.

Zebra not quite as offensive, nor is ponyskin or cowprint

I love my blue leopard animal print top.

I'm 60.

Hahaha at ponyskin and cowprint.

Why ha ha? They are used mainly for accessories which is a more subtle way of wearing them.

Haha at blue leopard print

No it is not naff.

As long as you're not orange skinned and don't bleach your hair, I think it's fine in moderation. Maybe don't team the tops with your leather-look leggings, that's all.

Personal taste I guess (I'd be in the naff camp.....and I've just turned 50!).

I firmly believe it hinges on your hair and shoes.

I can imagine someone who is 50 with a smart shiny bob wearing a snake print shirt, some black straight cut jeans and some ballet flats or Chelsea boots, maybe a blazer and scarf.

I think you have to be careful with leopard print, but I saw some grey on grey leopard print jeans, I can imagine these with a simple black roll neck jumper looking chic.

I would buy the one that appeals to you and try on with your own clothes at home, if you feel good, go for it; if not, return it.

Whistles do it very well (even in blue) and many pieces would suit a lady of a certain age. Perhaps steer clear of Miss selfridge and Jane Norman though.

I think animal print always looks naff so I'm not the person to ask!

I've got a blue leopard print top from whistles - its gorgeous.

You are never too old for leopard print.

I only know one person who can carry it off.
A true Northern working class lady, who through her hard work and that of her DH became pretty well off.

She's well over 70, immaculate make up, expensive honey coloured hair, perfect nails, natural tan, sky scraper heels and a walking stick. Oh and a, no doubt pricey, leopard print dress.

Why can she get away with it and the rest of us can't. I think because she's always realised she's very lucky to be able to spend time and money on her appearance and enjoys the game.

If they went bankrupt tomorrow, she'd still be as down to earth friendly and fun as she is today.

Seriously a leopard print bag or scarf or shoes is fine - I don't know anyone who really couldn't carry one of those off.

Me!

I can't wear court shoes.

DD has some multicoloured leopard pumps, they are splendid. They are my size they make my heels hurt instant I put them on.Sad

I reckon it's a bit Bet Lynch....but I also think if you like it you should go for it!

My mother who is just a year or two past fifty wears animal prints, in particular leopard skin in a variety of different ways and it never looks bad on her.
