help...I am in desperate need of bras!

Just don't know where to go for them...the last lot I have had have been from Asda Blush which were just supposed to tie me over until I went proper bra shopping!
Need to be cheap and machine washable.

None of this sexy stuff...I'll leave that to DH to buy if he wants it! Grin I'm just after every day black and white T-shirt type bras!

I always go to bravissimo but i am large of nork and they start at a D cup.so I'd recommend them if you're also large of nork.

John Lewis, they have a very good measuring service and a good range of own-brand plain bras in white, flesh-coloured and black.

But then I'm 32E and can't get bras in supermarkets.

If I was a smaller cup I would probably get measured at John Lewis and buy supermarket bras.

If you want to be measured/fitted as well then head off to Bravissimo, JL or Debenhams (be aware though that the standard of fitting in JL and Debs can vary). Stay clear of M&S!

What size do you think/know you are?

You really shouldn't machine wash any bras at all but I occasionally do put them in the machine in one of those net laundry bags.

I got properly measured years ago and now just buy online when I see a bargain. I stick to Freya as they fit best. So go to a proper shop like bravissimo or a good independent and get fitted would be my advice. Personally I don't rate John Lewis they didn't cater to small backs and always sized me up on the back and down in cup which was a one way ticket to frumpsville.

Another vote for Bravissimo. Their fitting service is excellent. I get fitted about once a year and then usually buy bras online. I just bought some bras on eBay yesterday - bought 2 for £25. Bargain Smile

I used to go to M&S but over the past few years found that their sizings were all over the place.

Now I go to Debenhams as they seems to have a good mixture of styles and their sizing seems more consistant. They also do a good range in the basic t-shirt bra styles if you want something plain and simple, including some nice colours if you don't want black/white/nude.

(I don't get measured though)

Bravissimo. Anyone can get a fitting there, you don't need to be blessed in the nork department as they will give you an idea of what your size is if they are unable to give you a bra that fits. D isn't very large compared to what most people think.

Hmmm Bravissimo is getting a lot of votes, so maybe I will try there!
I do plan to get measured before buying actually.
I am not exactly large of nork - I am about a 34 B, but I find my sizing really varies depending where I buy from - eg the Asda ones I mentioned earlier are 32C and I also have the odd 34A!

Thanks for the advice, I think I will plan a trip to large nearby shopping centre where they have a debenhams, JL and Bravissimo and get measured.
(not sure if they have a figleaves but will try them too!)
I will just have to accept that I need to spend a good few hours trying on bras Sad

Thanks everyone!

JL or Debenhams here too. Sadly I'm not large of nork (LOL Cappucino!) but I've discovered Wonderbra - wow, I now have a cleavage!!!

I got some lovely triumph supersoft bras from Suzanne Charles. Granted lots of older lady style lingerie but They were about £7 cheaper than JL.

I love these bras so comfy like you are not wearing anything. Only type I wear now
