Northumberlandlass · 01/10/2012 11:28

Hoping to get this dress for my 40th in December.

Billion Dollar Baby

Does anyone have experience of their sizing? I am probably inbetween their L and XL !

TIA

I have a few of their frocks and would say they're pretty true to the measurements given on the site.

I'm a wobbly 14 and mine are L. The fit is great and most of their dresses have a wee bit of stretch to them which helps!

Beautiful dress by the way Smile

Ah thanks Bunny That's really helpful Smile

I'm a wobbly 14 but my measurements seem to point to an XL, but I'm 6ft tall so ....urgh. Still not sure which to order !!

I have that dress Northumberlandlass, and am a size 14, I bought an L - it's great, the stretch in it is very, very strong, it almost feels like it's pulling you in but is very comfortable at the same time.
It's very much a dress for wearing when you're hoping to catch someone's attention ( get your leg over ) not for having tea with the vicar ( unless you're after shagging the vicar ).

Thanks Carole - That's good to hear!

MsArseBiscuit - ha ! Love it. It's for my 40th and my DH will be there along with my closet 180 friends...some of whom I haven't seen for 20 years, so I'd like to make a good impression Wink I am now persuaded to go for 'L'. I have plenty of time till December so if it doesn't fit I can swap it.

Thanks for your help Ladies !

I wore it for a posh lunch date with ex-dp, sadly after the lunch date he decided to take me to meet his uncle and family at their farmhouse. They were dredging their pond when I stepped out of the car looking like Titty McTit from Titville. It was awkward.

Ha, oh dear. That's funny.
I'm hoping there won't be mud, but it is December in Northumberland so there might be snow...maybe I should get some snazzy wellies Grin

You could, and a Merell Wakefield to keep that freezing cold wind off you.
I sometimes wear these www.shoeperwoman.com/2010/05/polka-dot-peep-toe-platforms-with-bow-from-marks-spencer-limited-collection.html with mine or a pair of very high, red suede peeptoes I have. Are you getting the red or the black dress ?

Northumberlandlass · 02/10/2012 07:38

Have ordered the red one. Those shoes are great, quite cheeky! I'm really not sure what to go for...I'm 6ft tall and while the heel is an ok height for me, the platform part will but me at 6ft4

I was seriously considering some flats, would that be a major no no?

I can't afford a merrell wakefield AND that dress Wink

Oh, sorry, I'd not taken on board your height ( probably my subconscious long leg envy, I'm 5' 2" ) - you need one of the shoe gurus on here to come up with some suggestions, although I do think a tall woman in that dress and heels would look amazing.

i'd go for a little heel
black satin
leopard (my fav)
gold
red patent

Cor Faux I love those leopard print ones!
Do you think kitten heels make legs look chunky? I'm so used to wearing flats.

I know high heels make legs look thinner, i think a trip to Debenhams is on the cards.

Thanks for the suggestions Smile

6 cm £27.

Red leopard 7 cm, with 1cm platform.

Thanks Tap
Think the red leopard print might be a bit much for me Grin

The heel height is still quite high for me...i don't wear heels AT ALL and I'm worried that i'll feel uncomfortable.

I love that dress too. Sadly if I ever get down to the weight I'd want to be to wear it, I'll have no boobies left :(

Heels-wise, I'd wear this with platforms as well, probably in black patent as I think anything else might be overkill. Peeptoes always look good with this style dress. I might have a black patent wide waist belt too.

If you can't deal with stilettos (I can't anymore) I'd try some wedges. Even high wedges are more comfy to walk in. Same sort of style. So like this but try to find a less deep wedge!

£10 and 3 inch heel.

I know these aren't heels but what do you think?

leopard flats

I know heels would be better.

Thanks for the links Tap - I appreciate it.
