My Barbour is pretty fab. I got it from a Barbour shop.

Barbour jackets are fab - they are stocked in John Lewis and lots of other department stores but have their own stores too:

Jack Murphy do fab wax jackets at half the price of Barbour. I bought mine on www.trekwear.co.uk - got really great service from a real person, next day delivery and I LOVE my coat. It's chocolate brown, has fasteners so that you can pull in the waist and look like a lady for a sunday lunch visit to the pub, but cosy and warm with masses of pockets to fill with all the usual keys, dog biscuits and lipsalve crap I need to lug about.

Barbour, although Husband does wax lyrically about Driza-Bone, you could always buy one on eBay and try it before you progress onto your own which you must wear for the next 20 years and send back to the lovely people at Barbour for running repairs, it is the law Wink

Husband saw how many repairs mine needs this year and suggested it was cheaper to get a new one, I obviously had him taken outside and shot Grin

for fashion or weather protection purposes?

I have a driza bone jacket and it's fab. Really heavy and warm as well as completely waterproof. Not going to win any prizes in a fashion contest though!

Thank you ladies, BobbiFleckman - a little bit of both i think. I want it to look nice but also warm and water proof for the dog walks and kid time in the park
