Hiya Ladies

Right DP and I are finally in the planning stages of getting married.

We are on a budget, been together 8 years, have a DD, a load of family issues. So we are looking at a registry office do with 6 or 8 friends.

I don't really do wedding dresses. I could not face wearing white (would be very ironic for me)

So I a thinking of buying one of these.

probably in purple

I havea fab pair of shoes in purple

So I need a bottom half. I quite fancy a mermaid tail skirt / fish tail skirt would need to be reasonably priced (50punds ISH). I was thinking black so that I could get some ware out of it in future. I wear a size 14next jean but maybe look around the 16 / 18 mark for a skirt.

Would also be open to any other suggestions

Would also like a long sleeved bolero or similar. HATE my arms!

So come on and tell me where to look for the bottom half

Love the first one. Nice to have interest at the back for a wedding, I think, and you don't want too much going on at the front with the corset and a bouquet of some sort.

Thanks Chippy, I was thinking I could alter the ribbon on the back to match the corset colour / ribbon.

All I need now is a short jacket = really want the laces visible on the corset back.

Do you think I could stay black on the jacket?

thanks

Either the first (my favourite) or the last one (the beaded one). The others are not dressy/special enough for the amazing corset you have in mind.

I'd skip the jacket or have a shrug.

Hiya

Thanks Karma

I do quite like the first one. definately need some arm cover though.

Any ideas for a shurg / bollero / jacket / thing, gratefully recieved!

I would say to keep the shrug very plain, because there is lots of detail in the rest of your outfit. Am not sure what material the first skirt is made of - it looks like satin, so maybe a satin shrug?

What do you think Black?

What is the difference between a satin shurg and a bollero? I must be stupid cause I have no idea.

I think of a bolero as more like a mini jacket and quite loose, but a shrug is more fitted to the body and is basically two sleeves held together by a minimum of fabric and quite cut away, so you see a lot more of your dress. That distinction might just exist in my head though!

I think black, unless you could get one in the exact same colour and material as your corset

Well I could ask the corset makers if they would make me one. But then a wonder if it would look a little top heavy on colour!

sort of like this?
what about this if I could get one in Black?

I´m still not 100% sure on the skirt.

I really like that bridal one in your 2nd link.

I do think you need to decide on the skirt first though, because whatever shrug/bolero you choose has to complement it.

I think I would probably stick with black for the shrug - I think you are right about being top heavy on colour.
