My work workdrobe is in desperate need of a make over. Suggestions and links for smart outfits (size12 5foot 4) gratefully received.

TIA

I love Hobbs for smart suits and dressed, always a nice feminine cut.

I have looked at Hobbs and do like some of their items. How accurate is the sizing with Hobbs and would the trousers swamp me at 5ft 4?

Hobbs trousers are very, very long ime. Their outlet site is brilliant for jackets at occasionally v v bargainous prices.

I'm just returning to work and got the Hobbs Elm dress. It's lovely!

I find the sizing generous by the way

Re Hobbs, I would say sizing on their skirts seems about right, dresses IMO tend towards generous as do jackets. Never bought trousers though.

I am a fan of the outlet section - I've recently bought www.hobbs.co.uk/product/display?productID=0211-7569-3327L00&productvarid=0211-7569-3327L00-BLACK-10 this skirt]] which goes with this jacket. The skirt is lovely on, and about true to size. Jacked I am returning as it came up quite big on me despite huge norks. Also this dress which I love, and this skirt which is lovely and goes well with a red shirt I just got from pepperberry.

French Connection can be good - they have a good sale section on their website but also a great outlet on ebay. I have my eye on this jacket as I have a coat which I think uses the same pattern (just longer) and it's lovely.

Thanks for all the links - you have chosen some lovely pieces and obviously have a much better eye than I do!
I think I need to start being a bit more adventurous especially with colour. That red dress was beautiful! I would never normally choose red.

Watching this thread as I'm also returning to full time work in a couple of weeks. I think knee length dresses with boots work well for the office, as do skirts with jackets like Statistically suggested. What kind of outfits do you like?

I like LK Bennett dresses and shoes for the office. The Davina dress is pretty iconic and once in a while you see a newsreader or celebrity wearing it. There are other styles, of course.

The dresses are fitted and can easily carry you to an evening function.
