Snow boots

Anyone recommend some snow boots, my Caterpillars have worn out after three years of heavy service.

Must be fleece-lined, waterproof (or at least waterproofable with spraying), not ugly and durable. And not Uggs! Budget up to £100. Was looking at Merrell Puffins but they get mixed reviews on Amazon...

Timberland have some duck boots for about £125, they look great.

Not sure why but these are £5 cheaper. Same boot surely?

Love the timberlands.

The Timberlands are gorgeous but I don't think fully lined - the blurb refers to a 'fleecy collar'. I need fleece all the way to my toes Grin

Hi, we have a lot of choice of good brands in Switzerland. But I think they are also available widely in the UK.

Highly rated are Sorel boots, and they are quite a cool brand to be seen in.

Jack Wolfskin have some hiking styles. www.jack-wolfskin.co.uk/Home.aspx

If you have an outlet centre nearby, it's worth visiting for some cheap snow boots as most have a Timberland, Puma, North Face etc

I've bought the Puma City snow boot, and the Puma Chamonix. Both really good quality for the price.

I have some sorels bought from endless. They are completely fab . Cost me $64. And I live in a seriously snowy place. My boots see a lot of ski field action.

I have Sorel Joan of Artic too. This is going to be my third winter with them and they still look as good as new. I live in a place that gets a lot of snow and wear them to walk the dogs in every single day, with Yak Trax attatched. They may be a little over your budget (don't know how much they cost in the UK) but worth every penny imo.

Also, check out Stella McCartney for Adidas. Again, no idea how much they cost in the UK!!!

there is NO better boot than Sorel, waterproof and warm. They last for years and years.

I have a pair of Merrell Prevoz which I got quite cheaply last year, they are amazingly warm and totally (wade through a stream) waterproof.

Sorrel claim to keep your feet warm down to -25 degrees not sure how long your exposure to that temp has to be for that claim to be justified. My feet were bloody freezing the last time I took the kids sledging whilst wearing my sorrels and it was no where near -25 degrees - maybe -2. On previous occasions I'd worn my hill walking boots and my feet were toasty - although not quite as pretty.

I live in Canada and everyone recommended us Sorel. dh and ds have the ones with felt linings which can be replaced if they get wet. dd and I have Merrels which aren't quite as good, but then you may not be walking the dog at -25C.

Try ASOS for Sorels, they have the Joan or Arcs and others in the sale. I bought some last week!

I bought the Keen Snowmass boots last year - they're warm, comfy and waterproof with good grip.

Merrells are the most stylish winter boots I've seen (the Oslo is gorgeous), but I found them quite narrow in the foot and the calf, so no good for me. Also the Merrell Puffin is not waterproof!

I have had these for 3 years in grey and they are brilliant, warm, easily cleaned and have great grip www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005XMY8Z8/ref=asc_df_B005XMY8Z89654004/?creative=22134&creativeASIN=B005XMY8Z8&linkCode=asn&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

I've got these and they are FAB.

So warm, fleecy lined and totally waterproof. They are also SUPER comfy.

Not sure why they are not on Timberland website anymore though?
