Oi over here hags

FuckingWonderwoman Wed 14-Nov-12 20:07:37

Nice bag, Herbs.

I am having a rant, complete with red eyes and spittle flying out of the corners of my mouth about ArseBoss's latest in AIBU.

Blackduck Wed 14-Nov-12 22:04:22

Wow what an AB. I think Email and say that I had tried, but clearly am not a mind reader so suggest either he arrange it or get someone else to, but I'd copy in boss above and point out that my 'failure' was despite numerous emails/meetings etc. or I'd go to HR (if they are any good) as he is clearly a bully and a fuckwit...

CointreauVersial Wed 14-Nov-12 22:45:53

Herbs - I remember having a similar handbag epiphany when I was suddenly freed from the need to carry half the contents of my kitchen and bathroom around with me. Have you got a TKMaxx near you? They usually have a gorgeous selection at good prices.

Anyway, must go and read about the latest ArseBossery.

herbaceous Wed 14-Nov-12 22:49:32

We only have a mediocre TK Maxx here, and as I'm being bought for feel I could go full price! Though it goes against the grain rather.

FuckingWonderwoman Thu 15-Nov-12 21:08:27

I've been driven to drink and have opened a bottle of Pisse-Dru.

Grincherella Thu 15-Nov-12 21:19:36

I could fashion a small blutack effigy of AB and stick a drawing pin in it.

FuckingWonderwoman Thu 15-Nov-12 21:51:58

Well why not, Strops?

Grincherella Thu 15-Nov-12 22:59:40

Done. grin AB is now perched on my desk looking like a porcupine.

CointreauVersial Thu 15-Nov-12 23:18:20

We actually have a real voodoo "boss" doll up in the loft, which DH acquired from his office Secret Santa last year. I was waiting for an opportunity to re-gift it somehow, but maybe your need is greater, MrsS.

Christmas shopping in Kingston tomorrow - raaahhhh! DH is doing the school pick-up, so I have all day to myself. I might just manage a teeny tiny trip to Zara while I'm there.

FuckingWonderwoman Thu 15-Nov-12 23:24:55

I booked my hotel in London via's secret hotels. They now tell you very little about the hotel, so it was with some trepidation that I booked it, but am delighted with what I've got, as it was one of the ones I was looking at, and wishing that my budget stretched that far!

bigTillyMint Fri 16-Nov-12 07:26:01

FW, at least something is going right for you - have just caught up on all your AB news - keep us updated on the outcome of the meeting!

And CVenvy at shopping in Kingston - haven't been there for years, but used to go all the time in a previous life and envy at shopping on a Friday. Although I did get started on the Christmas shopping last Saturday!

Grincherella Fri 16-Nov-12 09:33:45

I am mighty miffed that I will be missing you in London by one day, MrsS. I am there next Fri as am attending a course on Sat. I shall be marooned all by myself in Ealing (bah) on Friday night. I had a look at the secret hotels last night and was too trepidatious to actually book anything. Think I will give it a go now.

I shall be doing a spot of Christmas shopping on Friday, I think.

bigTillyMint Fri 16-Nov-12 17:07:50

Grinchy, I will be at London Bridge about 3pm on Friday if that's any good? Miles from Ealing, but if you are shopping....?

FuckingWonderwoman Fri 16-Nov-12 17:39:35

I am there on Friday, Strops. I booked an extra night for eventualities such as this. smile I am staying on Oxford Street if you want to meet up? I am working on Friday but am planning to finish no later than four-ish.

bigTillyMint Fri 16-Nov-12 17:48:01

Oooh, maybe I could trek over to Oxford Street and we could have a mini-meet if DH will come home in time to take DD to gym.

bigTillyMint Fri 16-Nov-12 17:50:41

FW what happened at the meeting?

FuckingWonderwoman Fri 16-Nov-12 18:59:50

Update on the original thread, BTM! grin

Grincherella Fri 16-Nov-12 21:47:13

Aha, next Friday night is now looking more interesting. grin Most excellent news, FW and BTM!

Alas, I cannot get bladdered as I have to do actorly things all day on Sat and must therefore not be in too rickety a state. But we could meet up and I will behave in a relatively decorous fashion. I think I can remember how to do that. grin I have not yet booked my hotel so maybe I will get something closer into town and not out in the wastelands of Ealing, lovely though I am sure it is. Gimme a time and a place for a meetup and I will be there.

Poor DD1 had a little weep tonight. She had a great group of friends last year, and they used to go shopping and to the cinema together. Most of them left over the summer, and she was upset that she has no-one to go shopping with. I suggested another friend that she hangs out with sometimes, but she said no - last time she went shopping with this friend, she dragged DD1 into Louis Vuitton, where she bought a bag! shockshockshock DD1 said rather sadly that this friend doesn't like going into Zara and H & M, which is where she used to go with her more "normal" friends. Her best friend is not allowed out without her mother two paces behind her. When we have taken this friend to Disney, her mother insisted on talking to her on the phone for the entire train journey, so that she knew she was "safe".

I have suggested that she asks some of the new girls in her class if they want to go shopping, and she said she would think about it. I suggested a new shopping centre near us (it has M & S, but I think DD1 would not find this appealling) - they could meet up here, and I could go with them (but lose them there) if this would help fussy mothers. Didn't really know what else to suggest. Just felt quite sad for her. sad

CointreauVersial Sat 17-Nov-12 00:05:09

Phew, twas a marathon shopping session in Kingston today - I didn't even stop for lunch, and my feet are now very sore. I have definitely broken the back of the Christmas shopping (anything to avoid those December Saturday scrums). But it's odd how many stores have discounts and sales in the run-up to Christmas (30% off in Gap, anyone?).

Anyway, I was quite restrained with regards to buying treats for myself, although I did buy a pair of black coated jeggings (the ones that look a bit like leather, but aren't). To be worn with an arse-covering top, naturellement.

I have bought my 11yo twin nieces fleecy onesies for Christmas - they have just started at posh public schools and I think it is important that they stay in touch with their inner chav. wink I'm particularly looking forward to seeing the expression on DSis's face when she sees what I've bought them.

I can heartily recommend Tiger for stocking fillers if you have one near you. Lovely Scandi stuff.

oldqueenie Sat 17-Nov-12 00:32:47

oooh. where did you find the fleece onesies?

bigTillyMint Sat 17-Nov-12 07:13:14

CV, I bet you look like the model in those jeggings with your lo-carb skinny body. I on the other hand would look like I had two black puddings for legs!

Fleecie onesies galore in Primarni (as DD was pointing out last night - apparently she is too big for her current ones - NOT - and wants animal ones for Christmas!)

I see there is a Tiger close to MI and I - maybe we can meet up there?!

Grinchy and FW, how about somewhere in the Bond Street area next Friday?

FuckingWonderwoman Sat 17-Nov-12 19:43:53

Name a place and I will be there. As long as it serves alcohol. grin

Are Onesies the thing to have for teens now then?

We have a new M & S 10 minutes walk from us and it is great (bumped into half of Paris there.)

CointreauVersial Sat 17-Nov-12 22:38:21

The fleece onesies were from New Look, in the kids section - they had giraffes, dogs and a few other designs. I could only find adult-sized in Primark. M&S had them too, but for mega-bucks.
