John Lewis - colour analysis

Please share your experiences if you've had your colours done at John Lewis. I am thinking of having mine done and, as I live abroad, it is easier than trying to arrange a H of C appointment when I am next in England.

I didn't know they did it! Watching with interest as I fancy getting it done too.

I saw it on their website but just wanted to find some happy customers (or not!!) before booking it!

Interesting they're offering it - how much are they charging? Would fit well with their personal shopping service.

I think it's £120 and I thought I'd treat myself to it and then book a personal shopper immediately after - can't wait :)

Does Colour Me Beautiful still exist? I remember going as part of a group to one of their session and it was hilarious listening how insulting the upper class presenter could be to people of low self esteem.

We all clung together for support! But we enjoyed it!

Just looked and it does. £40 - £50 for a consultation but of course they don't sell clothes.

Back to update you all :). John Lewis on Oxford Street has just started offering a Style Profile session which includes colour analysis and a body-mapping profile. I think it sounds very good value at £120 - will report back after my appointment.

My mother had her colours done with house of colour and then a few months later she booked just a personal shopper experience with John Lewis for a wedding outfit. I think it was free at the time. When she told him she had had her colours done he was able to tell her straight away what colour she was and all the colours that suited her. He then went out around the store picking up anything in her colour and also what he thought suited her style. He was brilliant and found the whole wedding outfit for her, even advising us to go elsewhere for shoes etc as he had seen the perfect shoes in another shop. He was excellent and much better than any personal shopper she has had anywhere else. He even bought her fat pants to put on to give a nice sillhoutte under the outfits :)

Yes imlost - you're right. Apparently they've always offered a (free) personal shopping service and this is an extension of it, providing colour analysis and a body profile. I can't wait - have very high hopes!!

How did you get on at John Lewis? I am thinking of having my colours done but want to know where to go and if it's worth it!

This sound cool, however, I went to HoC too and was done as a group. There is an awful lot to be said for watching others have theirs done. Also, my consultant spent 2 hours on me doing colours, ratings and foundation and lipstick matching. I would highly rate HoC especially as they only cost £99 in comparison to JL's £120 for what must surely be a cut down version of this service.

Avoid CMB, I've heard baaaaad things about them!
