Uniqlo. I have about 12 of the buggers

YouHaveBeenOutbid Tue 28-Aug-12 15:50:42

Do you have a Dunnes anywhere near you? They tend to be quite good for that sort of thing.

gatheringlilac Tue 28-Aug-12 15:53:21

What's wrong with M and S and Brora? I'd have said that they were the obvious first place to shop, so I'm guessing you've discounted them on shape grounds?

gatheringlilac Tue 28-Aug-12 15:55:00

And we have two large TKMaxx shops near here, both stuffed to the gills with knitwear from everywhere. Is it worth looking in your local TKMaxx?

I find that Boden (cropped cashmere) and Monsoon (for cotton summer ones) are the best for cardis to go with dresses. They tend to last a long time too.

PippiL Tue 28-Aug-12 16:00:50

Yes, h&m are a good shape. And plenty of colours. And price, obvs.

I don't like boden as the quality isn't great for the price, and they always go bobbly.

Off too look at uniqlo now.

HelloShitty Tue 28-Aug-12 16:02:12

I've just bought my second one of these. I too hunted bloomin everywhere to find what I wanted, and Boden came up with the goods.

I got cracking ones at tescos for a tenner. Not v neck though Long sleeve cardi I got it in white and in a kind of vintage floral pattern which is out of stock now

They also do a cropped v neck one but it does have 3/4 sleeves cropped cardi.

Actually Laura Ashley is very good for fitted high percentage of cotton, non bagging cardigans in different styles and colours. They fit to the waist or just below and also stock longer line too. I do like them because the ones I bought last years...

Yep, Primark. You have to be prepared to rummage through some tat, but I've got a few brilliant cardigans from there.

OrangeLily Tue 28-Aug-12 16:11:26

H&m are awful if you have bigger boobs as the buttons just sit underneath them.

My face is M&S and have one of their cards in about 4 colours for work. Comfy and long lasting.

TwelveLeggedWalk Tue 28-Aug-12 16:11:55

I have several variations from White Stuff, but all fitted rather than waterfall-ey.

airedailleurs Tue 28-Aug-12 16:14:24

I got some cropped ones in different colours from George @ ASDA sale and Primark for about £5 each and a very nice one from Lands End (their sales are pretty good)

Annunziata Tue 28-Aug-12 16:15:32

Zara's are great.

TwelveLeggedWalk Tue 28-Aug-12 16:23:18

OOH, sale on now actually

green cardis

not on sale but proper grown up

Actually they have about 100 of them.

MrsPear Tue 28-Aug-12 16:29:21

Despite the fact that i am 31 i buy mine from woolovers because the wool cardis are wool and the cotton ones are cotton not some artifical fabric. They wash at 30 degrees with the pink wash liquid. Good range of colours and styles. Just look carefully! The only think i would say is if like me you are very, very long armed, despite being 5'6", the sleeves just meet my wrist but otherwise the fit is good. I am a dress size 10 (34b chest) and wear size small in there fitted cardi's.

Viviennemary Tue 28-Aug-12 16:35:02

I've got two or three from Tu at Sainsbury's. A couple of M & S cotton ones. But it's hard getting a decent cardigan.

Try Ebay. I know the style you mean and Laura Ashley has done them. Also keep eye out for this style in the less fashiony stores, some such as McKays, Bon Marche (believe it or not) M&S can stock really nice cardigans.

Also La Redoute has plenty of styles.

I love Sandwich cardigans which come in all style, Nougat and Out of Xile , a bit pricey the last one but lovely.
