Now I love her blog and think she seems lovely. But I am such a meanie as follow her on twitter and am just smiling to myself at her hunt for a coming home dress - I'm assuming from hospital post-birth.

She has just linked to a cream silk dress.

So is the coming home dress from hospital a new thing? God knows I love an oppertunity to shop but that really never occurred to me.

I have no idea what I came home from hospital in! Probably some fetching maternity leggings and a massive shirt. Hope she doesn't leak onto her cream silk dress!

Cream silk and a new baby eh? Hollow laughter.

I think I came home in a pair of tights and a big jumper with dd1!

Well me too Dexter.

Perhaps its the well known distraction thing - worry about a frock rather than actually giving birth which is quite sensible.

bless her. Didn't she have some special underwear that could only be worn once she was a 'wife'? I suspect she won't find the breast feeding bra's quite as exciting.

Oh God yes I'd forgotten that. She probably will wear cream silk and have a ravishing easy baby who never vomits all over her clothes.

I thought that was hilarious Grin

I was still massive till about a month post birth and bled for five weeks and the sweats and the milk stains...

She does like an occasion though doesn't she, I suppose it's admirable :)

She will have a perfect baby won't she MrsCB! I can't imagine her having a sicky baby that screams if you even consider putting it down (like I had) and it will probably sleep through from about a week old (not 3.5 years old in my dd's case!). I didn't wear much cream silk as I had to change my top about 5 times a day...

Oh so did I with DS1 - we both constantly smelt of sick until he was about 9 months. Stylish times.

Oh dear, she's in for nasty shock isn't she?

I bet she's going to have a waterbirth, with no drugs, and a playlist of her choosing in the background. Probably wearing Eres.

I must say I did feel a little smug when she resorted to IO after her big talk in the early days about how she wasn't going to need maternity clothes...

She said she wasn't going to need maternity clothes? What was her plan??

I bet she has a wonderful baby who never voms or wees on her and is really smug about it Grin

I had a water birth and no drugs in a midwife-led unit that looked like a boutique hotel but it didn't stop both of my utterly beautiful children vomitting (and pooing) over me whenever they felt like it.

I had visions of looking like the Mamas & Papas model, post birth. I don't know why, because if I didn't look like her, pre conception, I was even less likely to, having just had a baby!

Am unfamiliar with this blogger, but just had a look at the link. I like Jools Oliver, but doesn't that stuff for Mothercare, look like all the other stuff that's in Mothercare?

Cream silk Shock At least it's the same colour as baby vom Grin but I'm thinking of enormous maternity pads, waist high knickers and leakage

MissBee - it was the post-partum bleeding I was thinking of - goes pale at thought of wearing cream silk.

But bless her - she's realised white/cream not such a good idea after all.

She also linked to a baby perfume on a baby post, not sure I'd want to douse my newborn with that.

My "going home" outfits were black maternity leggings and a black maternity top and with DS a maxi dress. I was horrified that I couldn't fit back into my jeans straightaway. I know better now

Oh dear, the first thing I put in my hospital bag was my coming home outfit Blush. I also took in scented bath oil, full make up and Grazia, but only one sleepsuit which DD soiled immediately, the midwives weren't impressed.

I was all about baby's coming home outfit but as I was the size of an oompa loompa - well it didn't really matter what I wore.

Cream silk, really? I don't even remember what I came home in, was probably pyjamas!

This time I'm hoping for a home water birth, but daresay it won't be serene & I will be swearing like a trooper through most of it as I was first time round.
