Boots advice please

I'm looking for a calf or knee length boot in either black or dark brown, must be flat and comfy but also stylish. Its for work and will need to go with skinny jeans and ideally also with skirts too. I work in a shop/warehouse and its very cold in winter (>5 deg) so something warm would be good. Its so long since I've bought new boots that I don't know where to look. Not really bothered about price as long as its under about £150 as I'll get plenty of wear from them. Something I can get on the high street or big dept store (John Lewis, Fenwick, Debenhams) would be ideal.
