Shall I tell you what I bought in Long Tall Sally today?

Precisely nothing.
Even with 10% off there was nothing.

I'd earmarked a few things in the catalogue, but when I saw it in RL , I didn't even bother trying it on.

Overpriced and very frumpy.

They do sell some extraordinarily awful stuff. Do you think Lisa Butcher has cut her ties with them?

Having said that, one thing I have got and am pleased with is the black shutter dress. Looks very good on, I think.

I bought the basic fitted white shirt online and it's that really cheap looking thin, greyish white if you know what I mean. Nasty.

I'm not suprised. But I did get some nice red capris from there in the sale

I went in to the store in Brighton, took a look around, and walked back out. I'm tall not frumpy

It's awful. I keep having another look in the hope that they had filled their website with the wrong stuff by mistake, but nope, it's all still there.

I spent quite a bit online there recently and sent it all back except one top which I actually love

Had the catalogue through today and it was just ugghh!

It is all ugh. God knows what I'm going to do for a winter coat this year. Normally LTS has some staples, but oh my eyes at this season's catalogue. Plus I had some of the worst customer service ever from LTS a couple of months ago.

I had my eye on the leather jacket but it was just...wrong.
The quilted shoulders were awful.
And the arms would have fit a gorilla.

They hang all the knitwear, and already it looks shapeless and stretched.

So I went over the road to Crispins, spent an hour trying on gorgeous shoes and boots, and bought some v.v. £££ shoes.

i would like some coloured jeans though...can't get my legs in TopShop though.

I have to disagree, long tall sally not only offer clothing that is proportioned to fit (they don't just add extra inches like other highstreet brands that have tall ranges) everything fits i the right place, which for me is amazing. The collections are also really fashion conscious, finally I can wear the peplum trend and it actually fits on my waist, where its supposed to!

Glad to see a review on that leather jacket MrsD... I was going to order it today!! That's £200 that's staying in my bank.

LTS is depressing, expensive, horrid patterns.
What I would like? Some skinny coloured cords for AW2012 that aren't £50. Oh and have a 35/36" inside leg.
Haven't bought anything from LTS for years

Most of LTS stuff is astonishingly horrid, quite impressively so. It's as if they're trying to out-do Per Una, wiht the addition of weird cutting, so the clothes sag and bulge in odd places. Most peculiar.

HOWEVER...

their Richmond straight-leg jeans are vair vair good, both the summer and the winter versions. I have them in several colours, and they are more comfy and fit better than the Top Shop Marthas (which are only very intermittently available in any case).

I struggle to buy stuff in there nowadays. I just want a basic work wardrobe, stuff that I can wear everyday, and if I buy a special dress, I want it to be something after I can wear after a wedding etc, without looking daft.

I hate all the fabrics these days too, all synthetic and creasey and sweaty. Depressing really isnt it. And dont get me started about large size shoes.

I have just bought some Mint Velvet tops which are long in the sleeve and body.

I've lost weight recently and can now fit into TopShop tall which is fab! But there are only a few items I would buy. Mainly coloured jeans tbh

workshy · 27/08/2012 17:43

did you all take out a new mortgage before venturing into LTS?

I have been searching desperately for a pair of black work trousers recently but I'll be damned if I'm paying £50 for a pair that will last me all of 3 months (physical job)

DorothyGherkins · 27/08/2012 17:54

I recently bought plain black and also grey trousers from Asda and Sainsbury in their long range - I was very surprised they were really long (35" leg here) fabric was good quality, and the fit was equal to anything I ve had from LTS. I think the price was around £12, so thats what I m wearing for work.

Fashionlover · 27/08/2012 19:13

No I don't work at lts, I've just been pleasantly surprised by the recent ranges and fit. Being 6ft, it can be virtually impossible to find fashionable clothing that fits!

I went in on Saturday for some tights - they are not in stock yet, only available on mail order. Not impressed.
