Do you use a hair mask?

My hairdresser said the other day I should be using one once a week, but her particular recommendation needed to be left on for 20 minutes! Fat chance.

So do you use anything? And are there any decent products out there which work in 5 minutes?!

Yes my hairdresser said that too, they're always trying to flog their products! Angry

I use coconut oil sometimes which costs 99p Smile

I don't currently as not in a hard water area but used to use Kerastase Nutritive Masquintense. It was lovely.

Percy and Reed. It says wrap in towel and leave for a minimum of ten minutes, but five in the bath is fine. My hair is really improving and it was/is a snapped, dry mess.

Sorry, just realised I didn't properly answer your question.

I think they're a bit of a con, tbh. I can't see how shampoo and conditioner wouldn't be enough.

I use coconut oil (think you can use olive oil too? Mayonnaise? There are lots of natural remedies) I leave it on for several hours if I'm at home all day. I have slept with it in over night with a towel on my pillow.

Do you just wash the coconut oil out like a conditioner then, after shampooing?

Haven't heard of Percy Reed, will google.

I use Kerastase Force Masque Architecte once a week and it makes a huge difference to my hair. I usually slather on after shower on a Sunday morning and leave until I have 5 mins to rinse it off. I usually wrap my hair in a towel or, in warmer weather, just roll it into a bun and clip to keep in place. Sometimes it's on for 20 mins, other times a couple of hours.

My hair is dry and i've started using herbal essences hello hydration (it was half price in tesco when I got it, I don't know if it is now) and its made a big difference. You leave it on for 5 mins.

After I had ds I used vo5 hot oil regularly which I think you leave for 1 min, that worked too.

I find Full Marks has a similar effect...

Hmm maybe she wasn't flogging unnecessaries then as usual

20 mins though - really??!!

Might splash out, at least 5 or 10 mins might be better than nothing.

I use vatika hair oil as a deep conditioning treatment - it's fab. It's mainly coconut oil (which means it's annoying solid in the bottle and I have to sit it in warm water to melt before I can use it) but with added things like neem and rosemary that are good for the hair and scalp.

If you don't have time for a hair mask, the lazy best way to do it is to slap on a treatment before you go to bed and rinse it out in the morning. There's only so much of it that can be absorbed by the hair, so leaving a treatment on for longer won't do any damage.

kerastase one as and when I remember and hot oil (shower one) occasionally too which only takes a minute. It does make a difference imo

I currently use the leoreal nutri gloss hair mask. I can really see a difference after using it and it doesnt weigh the hair down. Currently on offer intescos and sainsburys at two for £5. Only needs to stay on hair for five mins.
