Best hand cream for very dry cracked hands

Due to this lovely weather and the vast amounts of washing & cleaning in doing in preparation for DC2 (any time now!) I have very dry sore hands.
It's mainly on the back of my hands & fingers not the palms.
What's the best remedy?

I have been using Hemp hand protector since I was given some for Christmas and have found it very good; a little goes a long way :)

vaseline? Kamillosan (from boots)? Lots of either of there two covered with cotton gloves at night?

White cotton gloves and Baby bottom butter from waitrose.

Hemp hand protector is very good but my DH hates the smell so it's banned.

For the first few days the cream goes into the gloves a lot but it settles down.

You can also get heated hand mitts that beauty therapists use when they do manicures.

Nutrogena Norwegian formula intensive hand cream. Tiny amount twice a day. Rubs in v well. Non greasy, absorbed nicely.

I almost had to give up my lab based job because I had sore, bleeding cracked skin and this worked wonders for me.

And with nutrogena you can apply as often as needed but after the first couple of days just did it once a day and was enough. It is generally not good to apply immediately after and washing as hands will still have moisture on them from hand washing.

Nutrogena Norwegian formula periodically throughout the day, with the Body Shop Hemp hand cream slathered on with cotton gloves overnight has brought my horrendously chapped and cracked hands under control - caused by the same reasons as yours.

I'm now using up some gardeners handcream containing manduka (sp?) honey overnight that I bought when on offer at a country show (far too expensive otherwise) and that is good too.

Best hand cream EVER is johnsons baby, soothing naturals intense moisture cream. its in the baby aisle, in a cream and green bottle. It works so well, instantly and smells lovely. Im washing my hands all day long at work and have tried loads of hand creams but nothing beats this. And its only £1.50 in asda.

Best fancy one is L'Occitane Shea Butter one which is the bees knees and lovely smell/packaging if those things matter, which they do to me cos I is shallow.

Lansinoh on the cracks will heal them over night, also fab on cracked heels.

Flexitol do a handcream which is v good. Or Garnier Hydralock.

I love Aveeda but it seems to not be working for me right now - no cracks but v v dry and 'old lady' looking.

I have this as I have a small baby and I'm always washing my hands. I tried an array of posh creams but when I was at the doctors, they recommended Epaderm from the pharmacy. It's available over the counter and is working quite well.

Neutrogena here as well, you can get two tubes for £2.99 in Home Bargains if you have one near you. A little goes a long way and it's fantastic

My GP advised me to put moisturiser on my hands, each time I wash them. I never remember though. Hc45 hydrocortisone cream from Boots is good for clearing up dermatitis-however, you need to ask advise before taking in pregnancy.

Uddercream, as recommended on here. I gave some to my florist friend , who always has nicks on her hands and permanently has them in and out of water and she swears by it. Huge tub from a local agricultural merchant for a fiver.

I am too sensitive to the the main ingredient and therefore go for Neutrogena too, especially the non scented one.
