Are all Dorothy Perkins frocks made for short people?

I ordered 4 dresses from DP in the sale (£40 quid for them all, bargain).

None of them really fit and they are all miles above the knee. And the waistline of all of them is just below my bustline. I am 6 feet tall so am used to things being a bit short waisted but this is mad.

I look like Colleen Rooney at the races in them.

Really disappointed.

I can never really join in the DP love-in as, although I'm just under 5ft 6ins, most of their dresses on me are a couple of inches above the knee and the waist line most definitely not on my waist (unless it's one of those really wide ruched dresses) so a very odd fit.

Yes, they are. They do a Tall range though...

They look nice on the hanger, but they just look absurd on me.

I do actually have a couple of dresses but they definitely have not washed/worn well at all.

I just bought two, one of them doesn't have a waist (the navy v neck, v nice, I recommend) but the other one is a maxi dress with a ruched bit in the middle which is supposed to be on the waist but sits under my boobs....it's ok as it doesn't look like a waistband, however, the dress is VERY long, its below my ankles and I'm 5ft9!

Yes DP dresses do tend to be on the short side, I did buy a blue bird print dress from them recently and while it's a bit short I think it looks ok, mind you the waist band is probably meant to be lower than it actually is on me!

I've ordered the tall maxi dress but it hasn't turned up yet, I'm 5'11".

Yes I think they do fit shorter people. Which is great for me as I'm 5'2" and it's nice to find dresses that are not that frumpy mid-calf length on me. The quality isn't always great though, I tried one on the other day that looked good on the website but just a bit cheap and nasty in reality.

Maybe try TopShop, their stuff always seems 'tall' to me.

You are joking right?? I'm 5'9 and mostly in the legs lol - I ordered this spotty dress which is so so flattering and hits just above my knee - so I can't imagine it's going to be a mini on you and this butterfly print one which is even longer and really nice on.

They also have tons of "midi" dresses (read - knee length so would be a really nice length on you - this and this...........

I'm loving Dotty P at the moment. At 5ft 2 I'm finding that lots of their dresses are the perfect length.

I kind of know what you mean OP- I have been really disappointed before when things have arrived and been micro. But, one thing that I like about DP is they always put the length on the description. I know now that for a daytime (ie. not short) dress for me I need to aim at around 90cm or longer. I am 5'7". They do always have some, but most are shorter.

I think the waist on the one I am wearing (denim spotty linked up thread) is slightly high but in a inch above belly button rather than just under bust way, the danger with waists sitting too high I find is that things can make me look a bit pregnant when I'm not!
