Just used some for the first time today, and OMG! It has taken 5 years off me, at least.

Yay! grin

Sparklingbrook Thu 15-Mar-12 16:03:55

Please tell me more......

prettymum Thu 15-Mar-12 16:06:10

Please don't let this be another thread which will have me going out and buying a brilliant product!

Alibabaandthe40nappies Thu 15-Mar-12 16:08:17

I bought some No.7 primer at the weekend, in the 3for2 thing Boots have on. Was just browsing and decided to try it.

Put a bit on just now before foundation and it does everything it says on the packet. I am amazed.

And smooth.

Sparklingbrook Thu 15-Mar-12 16:09:41

I still have a £5 voucher somewhere. How much is it? Is there different shades?

BelleEnd Thu 15-Mar-12 16:10:26

OMG me too! About a fortnight ago, I read somewhere that someone used Sudocrem as a primer, and as I had some in the house anyway, I put it on my face 5 minutes before foundation. At least ten people have commented on my clear skin since then, and make up stays on my face all day! It's ace!

CarpeJugulum Thu 15-Mar-12 16:35:15

Barbra Daly from Tesco is cheaper and is fabulous (blesses the guru that is mrsmartin for the recommendation)

tunaday Thu 15-Mar-12 18:27:00

I was amazed what a huge difference primer makes too. Ive been using YSL but have gone with Mrs Martin's recommendation too and find Barbara Daly's from Tesco just as good and over half as cheap.

DressDownFriday Thu 15-Mar-12 18:31:52

I use one from Avon - possible called Magix? - I like it to even out my skin and never bother with foundation.

MrsGuyOfGisbourne Thu 15-Mar-12 18:32:17

Agree - it is amazing stuff - i sometimes just wear it without any other makeup and it seems to smooth the skin

Sparklingbrook Thu 15-Mar-12 18:32:23

So how does it help? Tell me the science bit. smile

ggirl Thu 15-Mar-12 18:34:05

it's silicone based so creates a smooth layer going over the skin

sometimes causes spots on me

Bangtastic Thu 15-Mar-12 18:36:23

Sudocrem as a primer you say....? Does it really work? Or will I just look and smell like a greasy babies arse all day?

Sparklingbrook Thu 15-Mar-12 18:36:52

Oh right, sounds like I should give it a try. I have nothing to lose. smile

BelleEnd Thu 15-Mar-12 18:37:52

I hope I'm not smelling like a baby's arse, but my skin is certainly as smooth as one... grin

CMOTDibbler Thu 15-Mar-12 18:38:23

Primer is fabulous. In fact I sometimes just wear primer. My preferred brand is L'oreal studio secrets

HettyKett Thu 15-Mar-12 18:39:53

I was just about to ask if I could use primer without foundation. What does it do? I mean how does it change the way your skin look?

prettymum Thu 15-Mar-12 18:40:19

BellEnd please can you explain how you use sudocrem as a primer, I have that in the house so can experiment.

BelleEnd Thu 15-Mar-12 18:43:09

I just put it on my face in the morning, rub it in a bit so I don't look like Michael Jackson, and leave it for about 10 mins. Then I put on my makeup as usual. It's ace.

MuslinSuit Thu 15-Mar-12 19:06:26

I went to Tesco with the sole aim of buying the BD primer on MrsM's recommendation and they had sold out, damn you lot! I came out with their Face Lift cream and foundation though, and they are amazeballs, have used daily - no more Doublewear pasty skin for me smile

bigkidsdidit Thu 15-Mar-12 19:13:42

I'm trying hat tomorrow! Does it not drag rubbing it in?

Hope I don't smell like bum all day

Bangtastic Thu 15-Mar-12 19:16:10

LOL Bigkids... me too, will report back! I can imagine having a claggy face all day, and looking slightly patchy come the end of the day, but we'll see!

Alibabaandthe40nappies Thu 15-Mar-12 19:19:24

I am so pleased I started this thread, purely for the use of the word amazeballs grin

Sudocreme? I have a little pot somewhere, will give it a try!

Sparklingbrook Thu 15-Mar-12 19:21:35

But to me Sudocrem is associated with bum smells IYKWIM. But I am going to try it anyway. grin

coocoocachoo Thu 15-Mar-12 19:29:58

I too have sudocrem and will be giving it a shot...I shall be looking out for other laydeez with baby soft skin and that tell tale aroma....
