Does anyone buy Boden from Ebay?

I'd be interested to hear about your experiences. Do you find that if you, say, like something in the catalogue, you have to wait a few months for the item to appear on Ebay? Do you just generally browse Boden on Ebay and buy what you like?

I put four items in my shopping bag online, but when the total came to £250, I couldn't quite bring myself to press 'checkout'. I do like Boden, but I think the prices do seem to be quite high for what you get at the moment.

Thanks in advance Smile

Yep, I bought one of their lovely rainy day macs from eBay for about £40 cheaper than they are online with no problems. It's gorgeous! Just make sure you check the sellers feedback.

Yes I do buy boden on eBay, and generally I have been happy. I buy what I like the look of though rather than what the current season is. I sell my own boden on eBay too :)

Yes, but prices can be high, buy it now and auctions. Buy and sell the DC's stuff a lot.

I have bought Boden on ebay, but stopped doing so. I find with Boden that the sizing is a bit unpredictable, so I often have to return things that I've bought directly from Boden. Naturally, the same problem with unpredictable sizing applies to the things people are selling on ebay - but usually I can't return them to the ebay seller. I have a couple of Boden items that don't fit waiting for me to get around to ebaying them again. I haven't always got enough back when reselling.

The worst I have had was that it cost me about £25 to try on a dress that didn't fit, as it sold for less than I paid and there was postage to pay when purchasing and again when I sold.

I do/have and I'm not entirely convinced that a lot of the "new" items aren't fakes. The sizing, cut, colour, quality etc is so different from the original.

One seller that I've not had a problem with so far is hollysclothing or something similar.

Yes, I buy and sell Boden / Mini Boden. Always been fine - people have always been honest about condition etc.

I buy and sell. However, I would echo someone's concern about sizing. Often the stuff that get put on ebay has sizing issues too small/ too big/ just not right for the size it is labelled so a bargain may not be a bargain.

I also assume that some of the sellers that have "brand new" boden items either are buying seconds or things at Boden "town hall" sales -- the imprefections are probably slight but I do not expect the same quality as when I buy from Boden direct where I can complain many months later that an item is not up to standard.

Also ebay prices are sometimes very close to boden sale prices, so it may be worth being online the minute the sale gong goes and buying your items then.

Thanks everyone - this is all very interesting, and has actually put me off this option I think. I'm really pleased to hear that some have had positive experiences, but thinking about it, I tend to send more back to Boden than I keep - and though I like their stuff, when I don't like an item that i've ordered, I REALLY don't like it!! [especially over the last couple of years, i'm sure their quality has declined, fabrics seem thinner etc]

So even if i like the look of something online or in the brochure, there's still a good chance I won't like it in real life, and then i'd be in trouble if i'd bought it through Ebay. Also, if the condition varies and some might be fakes and the prices aren't that much of a bargain...well, meh, it doesn't seem worth it really.

I just got a bit of a shock when my total spend was £250, but thinking about it, I only actually buy clothes twice a year, so it's not too hideous [appreciate everyone's budget for clothes shopping varies Smile] But maybe the premium is worth it if you know you're not going to be stuck with something badly fitting or a bit grim.

Thanks for your comments everyone Smile

I have sold loads of Boden stuff on ebay- as a private seller. It always sells.

I am just off out to post a dress I sold- for £25- to Germany.
