who doesn't look good with fringes?

I want a fringe, I have wanted a fringe for about 15 years. I am a coward.
So who do you think doesn't look good with a fringe? I have wavy hair and wear glasses. Not thin but not fat.

Recently all my late 30s / early 40s friends (and I) have had fringes cut in - it was either that or botox.

Can't think of one that it didn't suit

I recently had a fringe cut in after years of wanting one and it has made me look 10 years younger.. i'm 32 and am getting id'd for wine again!

Even if you get it cut in and you hate it it's easy to pin up with kirby grips. I pin mine up for work.

It depends if your hair will do what you tell it. Mine won't. But after a few months of a fringe it seems to be getting better at staying there. The trouble is you need to cut it every few weeks and I'm not very good at it.

I'm always stuck between growing it out and trimming it as it never looks quite right.

Give it a try, you can always grow it again, it takes about a year to look longish again.

I don't look good with a fringe. Wavy/curly frizzy hair that won't stay flat, and small forehead and glasses.

It depends on your face shape.

I got bored a couple of days ago and cut my own fringe in with the kitchen scissors, after growing it out for the past 2 years...

But apart from being slightly wonky it looks fab and lots of people have commented on it - I definitely wish I'd gone to the hairdressers but it was one of those neeeed a fringe now moments. Will have to go to the hairdressers in the new year and get shouted at

I can't have a fringe, have a massive cowlick and any hair 10cm or shorter will just point straight up in the air, even with ultra strong hair stuff...

Well I don't think I have a round face (could be deluded I suppose)I would say it's quite oval with a big forehead. I asked my DH what shape my face was, and after looking at me like I was mad he answered "face shaped" so not very helpful.
My hair pretty much does what it likes as well, sometimes curly, sometimes straight but mostly wavy.
Rubbish at getting hair cut, go when I remember.
Maybe I should get drunk first.
Am gracing SuperCuts but have rubbish £100 haircuts and good £15 ones.

DottyDot - most hairdressers will cut fringes for around a fiver (or free!) so swallow your pride and go ask them to sort it out

I look a massive minger with a fringe that cuts straight across the forehead, not sure if this is what you had in mind. You can get sort sideish style fringes that might work - are fringes across the forehead kinda out - or are they in to fend off need for Botox. I cried and cried the last time I had bangs cut (mid-1990s).

If you've got hair that curles or frizzes up (like mine) it's a mistake because the bangs will do that too - gather in various parts of your face, like one of your DCs hacked away at you whilst you were sleeping.

If your hair is wavy don't do a fringe- it will clump together into one big curl in the middle of your forehead at the merest hint of humidity.
