Which brands do 11 year old boys like?

and which are "worth" the price tag?

Eldest DS (11) needs a new hoody. He likes the skater/boarder look. Has just started high school and wants to look cool. If I even begin to ask him about brands etc he will suss and there will be no surprise!

My 14 year old likes the ' traditional' Adidas stuff at the moment, he's very attached to his hoodie ( there's also a thing for those 70s/80s rectangular Adidas/Gola sports bags ) www.mainlinemenswear.co.uk/product.php?xProd=29158.

Depends on your area really. Can you scope out the other boys on the way to school?

What's cool with one group of boys will be social death for another group of boys - there is no such thing as a brand all 11-year-olds will like.

Think you'll have to ask him, or try and spot what his friends are wearing, or leave a catalogue or two lying around and see what he takes an interest in.

Completely depends on where you live - what's in here might not be where you live. YOu need to do some detective work and bring it up in conversation some how.

Mine has asked for a hollister hoodie. He is quite a well dressed, knows what he likes sort of chap.

Nike, Adidas, Superdry or Hollister would be acceptable to my 2 (age 10 and almost 13). But agree it does seem to vary from group to group. Worth doing some detective worth as theyre pricey!

My 12 year old likes Fatface and Animal.

thanks for replies. Detective work not easy as school has very strict uniform policy. Like the idea of leaving catalogues around. I have a Fat Face one can pop into the shops tomorrow for a few more.

Hadn't even considered the social death aspect of purchasing the wrong brand. My teen years are clearly too far behind me :o

Next time you are out and a skater boy walks past say " Ooooo I like that jacket" and if he says "OMG I would rather DIE that be seen in that" you know that's one to cross of your list!

11 year old boys?! Hollister?! Why start your child off on being 'brand' aware in the first place

You are creating a rod for your own back

The only 'brand' DS seems to like is Converse.
Everything else he owns is from Next/H&M

Most Primark Hoodies could be mistaken for Hollister or GOD FORBID Jack Wills.

They all get pasta sauce down the front in the end anyway

FWIW, my DS (13) bought himself a couple of Hollister things a year or two ago and does still wear them sometimes, but now seems to think that things with no apparent brand are cooler, eg plain hoodies from Top Man.

And as far as he's concerned, brands like Fatface and Animal are things parents wear...

My 12 year old DS really couldn't care less about brands. He wears a lot of Tesco stuff, tbh! He chooses everything himself, so it's not me forcing him to wear it. He has a good mixture of brands. He has a Ted Baker hoodie he likes best, I think.

The only branding he cares about are his shoes, and even then he's not all that arsed as long as they look good. His favourite shoes are his Grateful Dead Converse.

Just make sure that he knows he can return what you buy him if it's not 'right'.

Safe bets would be Hollister, Superdry and adidas.

My 11yr old nephew likes Gio-Goi (think that's how you spell it?) too.

I say

Prada

And Tom Ford for Gucci

my 12 yo ds doesn't care less about what brand he is wearing. So I get his stuff from H&M.

He wouldn't be seen dead in Boden though.
