Hi, no, it isn't.

We went a couple of sundays ago. It was HELL! 45 minutes to get from the slip road 2-3 miles to the "village" to be met with acres of full car parks. DH drove round the block for a while as I just needed to go to one shop (what madness was that!). I got talking to a security guard as I was waiting for DH and he said that it wasn't a busy day, this is normal and it gets much worse towards Christmas. He said that there are regularly have fights over car parking spaces. We won't be going back!

I have always managed to park with no problems, even went shortly after Christmas last year, there were queues for some shops (Ugg, RL) but I just avoided those.

Maybe we picked a bad time! It was hideous!

It's always bad at the weekends. During the week it's not nearly so fraught.

But it is exposed and not the best place for a rainy day.

Never been on the weekend but a Monday or Tuesday has always been busy but fine. Obviously more busy between now and Christmas on any day of the week.

It's set up like a proper high street so you are constantly in and out of stores. I usually don't bother with a coat - just a chunky cardigan and a brolly at this time of year :)

It seems to be especially windy there and always seems colder than normal. Wrap up well, get there early and leave quickly!

I have heard it can be awful - maybe I have just always been lucky. Agree with the in out and quick policy!

If you can, get there very early (before the shops are actually open) or leave it till mid-late afternoon. It is hell between about 11 and 3 and solid traffic from the motorway at weekends.

I've been once on a weekend and it seemed hellish, but I had just come back from Bolivia and it had been a 2 day trip already. My mum thought the best antidote to my tiredness was shopping! Hmm

Normally I'd go on a weekday. DP and I once got there about 10ish and even carrying around my big bump it was fine.

As long as you've got a brolly (and sharp elbows if it's a weekend) it'll be fine! Smile

We were there last Sunday - if you get there early it should be okay. We arrived about an hour after opening and the closest carpark was already full. Aim to be there as they open.
