Love this top was thinking with black skinnies, fab shoes and clutch...maybe red?

Would I need to wear more than a bra underneath? It's for a night out in town if that makes any difference, just wondering if it would look shite on anyone not skinny and toned? Am 29 and a 14 12.

I like it.

I'd wear a black cami/vest top thing underneath but if I was your age and had a nice flat tummy - well I used to wear similar with just a bra.

I'm 29, and a 14 12 too, and would probably not buy it because i don't like it wear something like that with a vest top underneath. But then, I'm a 5'4" size 14 12 so more on the chubby side. If you're a 5'7" 12 then you'll have a completely different body shape to me!

There could be interesting possibilities matching the vest top to the handbag, however?

Thought maybe instead of a vest some sort of bustier/ shape wear?

I like it too. I'd wear a vest/cami underneath, although I wore similar with a bra back in the day.

If you don't have enormous norks that need substantial bra, then yes, just a skimpy bra would be fine.

Why on earth would you [as in a person, not you you] wear that if you had any doubts about it? Yes, it would obviously look shite with a less than flawless bod underneath it. If you had to wear a vest or cami, then get something else altogether.

I've got a similar long sleeve white lace top from reiss that I wear in the day with white vest top underneath - looks nice.

And yes black structured body underneath would look good too.

What bibbity said, if I were going to wear it with another item I'd wear it underneath a corset.
I like everything about it but the cut of the sleeves!

Just thinking more and I've got a black lace dress from whistles and its got a built-in slip/lining which is strapless and looks lovely. So how about a strapless body underneath?

I suspect I'd have to wear it with a duffel coat over the top to be fair.

Vile.

I think it only would look good worn as the model A cami would defeat the object and make it very ordinary. Its lovely though if you have eh bod!

That's kinda what I thought Noddy. If I wore a vest underneath then it would just become an ordinary top. Bra only underneath risks exposing roll of tum when I sit down which is no a good look.

I like it - would look crap on me though.

Not only do you have to have a very toned stomach but you need to have a long body also IYKWIM - at 5' 3" and 8 months after having DC4 there is no way I could pull that off.

A cami would totally defeat the object and leave you in danger of looking like it was something your granny had picked up in debenhams circa 2003 rather than something a bit "now".

this one would be nice with skinnies and heals provided you don't have huge norks.

It's not going to look good with just the bra underneath unless you've got a flat stomach, no bra bulge at all and definitely no inkling of a spare tyre/mummy tummy.

That's not me being bitchy as I would be the first to admit I would not look good in it due to the above factors. If you wear a cami underneath i think you'd lose a lot of the appeal which is the lace detailing.

No I don't think you are being bitchy! Tbh it's what I feared, just needed it confirmed Smile

I like the red one but was after something a bit more special IYKWIM?

Similar styled on nap with black clingy vest underneath which is how I would wear it and doesn't look too debenhams Wink

Have you looked in reiss and whistles for tops - both have some lovely stuff at the moment

MrsCampbellBlack · 05/11/2011 10:17

reiss option and you could definitely just wear bra with this one as the lace is thicker.

Good suggestions from MrsCB. I wear mine with a tight camisole underneath and it actually makes the lace stand out more. M&S had some lovely strapless style vest tops in the other day.
