20% off in John Lewis today (think HoF price match). Still over 200 quid tho. I don't , I just want but plenty of other expenses at the mo. Please help me sit on my hands and stay away from my credit card.

Oh dear I was going to say don't do it Uggs are hideous but I just had a look at them and they're rather nice.

However they are fairly expensive and the impression I have of Uggs is that they don't remain in good shape for very long. Could you spend the same amount on some quality leather biker boots?

And boring note of caution, will you pay off the card or will you rack up interest on it? Interest piling onto your card every month will undo the bargain price so it's worth thinking about.

Don't buy them they have no ankle support and look cheap and nasty.

Sorry I think Uggs are so dull - yawn, crowd following purchase.

Will that do?

I too am lusting after a pair. My friend has them and they are lovely, different to normal Uggs as harder wearing, sturdy, much more suited to winter wear. Do you have any friends who are visiting the States? My friend ordered from US shoe website Zappos, had them delivered (free) to the hotel hubby was staying in, he bought them home. Guaranteed authentic, currently they work out about £140 with exchange rate. I did same when my DH visited US last year for grey Uggs and customer service was fab - he's not going in near future thoughSad

Aaarggh, no - please, everyone without exception has to tell me they are crap!!!! Have just been to the States (one of many reasons for skintiness now), realised on the last day I could have looked for a pair. My friend has some and says they leak at the seam with the sole, anyone else found this?

I've got normal ugg style boots made by Celtic Sheepskin which I absolutely love ( and use as both slippers and outdoor shoes, can't bear to remove). I agree these don't look the best and this is pulling me towards the kensington ones.

I might try some online Christmas shopping to see if this helps disappate my spending urge!

I would try them on first, I ordered some for only £150 from ASOS, only had my size left, 3. I couldn't get my feet in them and had to send them back! I don't have fat feet or ankles but I have a high instep.

I googled it and loads of people said the same thing. Some people size up but a size bigger was too big in the foot, and £100 more! They are on a few sites cheap for that size. Now I know why!

Sorry ladies but I LOVE mine. They are hard wearing and extremely comfotable, I would recommend them to anyone x

Fabmum the sheepskin boots I already have have black fleece - the fleece in the uggs I saw today was white, in your experience does it shed?

I wish I could help but I bought my first pair of Ugg boots last year (rainboots style with sheepskin lining) and I adore them. I wouldn't buy the typical Ugg boot because I think they're plain and boring but Ugg have so many other styles that rock. They're worth every penny, my feet have never been so warm and dry in really ugly weather.

Thanks to everyone. They appear to be sold out at JL online in my size so will see if I can fight the urge to go to the local branch tomorrow

Sorry but I don't think they are that nice really. If I had £200 for a pair of boots (pah! As if) I would shop around. They look a bit rubbish, naff really.

How very dare you?

My Kenzies judge you, both of them!

Yes but they are a bit gross. Get biker boots if you're going to be a biker.
And we are supposed to be discouraging OP from buying them after all!

I fell in love with them last year and eventually went to try them on. Couldn't even get my foot in them they are such a strange shape (the boots rather than my feet I think!!)

At least it ended my obsession with them.

They do not shed. I've had mine nearly two years and they are still as good as the day I bought them. I highly rate them, they are brill Smile

My friend wanted a pair desperately. I went shopping with her to get them, she tried them on and they looked awful. Like builders boots with a huge clown toe and that was in a size 4. Hope that puts you off!

Shinyshoes1 · 04/11/2011 12:12

I have a pair and they are NASTY , I wore them a handful of times and each time I was asked if they were my 'old mans' Hmm. They are big, clumpy and I clump around like i'm on a building site. They are not light and feminine to wear. It looks like I belong in a builders yard or stables

Worst £250. I have ever spent
