Non school shoes for boys

DS is 7 and has size 4 feet which are wide. He/i have never really been into wearing trainers with jeans. We're ok in summer, Clarks sandals plus canvas pumps seem to work.
But at this time of year I struggle to work out what to get him. Clarks have 1 pair non trainer/school shoes this year that look ok ish. Can anyone think f any other options? width fitted much preferred because his feet are v wide, next type shoes work out too skinny. He had kickers last winter but they never went soft and flexible and he doesn't want them again.
Any ideas gratefully received. TIA.

Geox? lots of different styles, shoes/trainers etc and though they are a wee bit pricey they last forever ...

(Meant to say, should be widely available at any independent shoe shop/JL etc)
