It needs to be:

Suitable for a 14yo
long (3/4 length minimum)
can be glitzy but it's not essential

Age 14 or size 6

What's the occasion?

What's the budget?

KatyMac Wed 19-Oct-11 19:31:02

Informal dance competition
Under £35 (ideally but if it was perfect.....maybe)

Um the £175 might work but maybe a fuller skirt, the prom dress way too short

Hang on I'll look

This is the closest we can find but the seller is away plus it might be too short

KatyMac Wed 19-Oct-11 19:49:02

Umm some of them are lovely

this one
this one not sure the skirt is full enough
too high waisted
too short

But there are two possibles there

TethHearseEnd Wed 19-Oct-11 19:52:09

Too short?

KatyMac Wed 19-Oct-11 19:54:28

Yes but lovely

KatyMac Wed 19-Oct-11 19:55:42

I'll see if black will do it won't sad

TethHearseEnd Wed 19-Oct-11 19:56:43

I almost linked to that!

It's that, but in red, right?

KatyMac Wed 19-Oct-11 19:56:50

I wonder if I could bead it or over lay it with red somehow?

I'm going to have to buy a pattern & make it aren't I?

KatyMac Wed 19-Oct-11 19:57:18

That would be the dress or the same but with godets

KatyMac Wed 19-Oct-11 19:57:54

I could put red (or maybe a big flower pattern) godets in couldn't I?

KatyMac Wed 19-Oct-11 20:07:39

Thanks so much for your help; at least I know what she wants

KatyMac Wed 19-Oct-11 21:58:39

cn anyone help me here?

TethHearseEnd Wed 19-Oct-11 22:18:32

How about this which can be made in red?

Can't find the price though...

KatyMac Wed 19-Oct-11 22:24:37

I have found some lovely patterns & DD is quite excited about making it ourselves

I started a thread in Arts & Crafts......but I'm talking to myself wink

KatyMac Wed 19-Oct-11 22:25:01

I think they are very expensive......

TethHearseEnd Wed 19-Oct-11 22:25:27

Ah, can't help you there. I can't sew for toffee grin

Good luck though; show me the finished article!

KatyMac Wed 19-Oct-11 22:26:26

If we ever get there......

angelpantser Wed 19-Oct-11 22:30:54

This one from ebay says it comes in red but it's not shown on the photographs. At £40 it's only a little bit over budget.

angelpantser Wed 19-Oct-11 22:33:18

Or what about this one ebay again

KatyMac Wed 19-Oct-11 22:36:53

The second one is further down the thread I think - it's too short I emailed the seller

The first one is just not 'floaty' enough

prioneyes Wed 19-Oct-11 22:46:04 maybe not for a 14 year old looks floaty alright! don't think it's any good but have a look.

Good luck smile

KatyMac Wed 19-Oct-11 22:51:47

The best is the floaty & it wouldn't be long enough I don't think
