Bicester - worth a stop even with the kids in tow?

We are passing on way home from a trip down south.

Is it worth going to? We'll have the kids in tow so not too sure if it is a wise idea - they done really do shopping?

Also quite close to the start of our journey and we have a long way to go.

If it is fantastic I might brave it....

It's very designer fashion shopping. I prefer The Clarks Village in Street or the McArthur Glen at Swindon.

I find it quite disappointing. Haven't been for ages and only live 25 minutes away.

Yes, it definitely is worth a visit imo. Saying that Clarks in Somerset or the Swindon outlet isnt hugely helpful if you're going to be stopping by while driving back down the M40 Wink

I love Bicester. I don't live a million miles away so have been lots over the years. There's quite a lot to entertain the children - fab outdoor play area if the weather's ok - nice eateries, etc. The shops can be very hit or miss. Hopefully when you go they will be full of fantastic bargains....but be prepared if they're just full of tat - it can happen.

However, it is only minutes from J9 of M40. If you're looking for a pitstop en-route from north to south than it sure as hell beats Cherwell services.

Not on a weekend - way too busy.

I find it good for children's stuff but poor for me.

So are you that desparate to get a bargain for the children . . .

Yes - it would be Saturday - the start of your half term too! We're only 20 mins away from a McArthur Glen at home, so thinking that that it is a no.

Couldn't give a damn about the kids - it's all for meGrin! (recently lost 1.5st so can be selfish on that front!)

I really wouldn't bother - the clothes for women aren't great in my opinion. You may find a good mulberry or Anya Hindmarch handbag but they'll still be £££

I would do everything on Earth to avoid Bicester Village on the Saturday in half term tbh. Now, 10am on a term time Monday morning is great Grin

I went about a month ago and swore never to go again! It use to be more high street outlets at good prices. Now it is proper designer like Prada, Gucci etc. still very very very expensive! They have pushed the rental prices up and forced out high street shops like Monsoon.

Also, I swear it is the busiest place on earth on a Saturday!Grin
