Save me from myself. Help me buy a pair of boots that AREN'T Uggs

I've been in a viscous cycle of Ugg buying for the last few winters. I've used pregnancy as an excuse, as in yes I know they're UGGly but I'm pregnant and need the comfort.

So I need a pair of stylish boots, I'm 5"7 so don't really need a heel, they need to be hardwearing and comfy. I wear lots of skinny jeans and long top/jumper combos so something that'll go.

I could also do with a pair of shoes, to go with bootcut trousers.

Please lovely S+B mumsnetters help me break the viscous ugg cycle I seem to be stuck in.

I got some beautiful (seriously I am a bit obsessed with them) boots from The Cotswold Boot Company, they are the Spanish riding boots ( I think) sorry I can't link. I have had compliments from complete strangers!

They seem to be very hardwearing, I am very hard on footwear but the soles of these do not even have a mark on yet despite me wearing them at every opportunity for the last 6 weeks. They are quite expensive though.

Hmm, not sure I'm too keen if I'm looking at the right ones. Though it's quite likely I'm not. Grin but for some reason rising (style) boots seem a bit wrong unless your actually riding iyswim? Blush

I'm not sure how relevant it is but I'm mid 20's.

Also have wide feet.

I too have a bit of an Ugg habit - freezing cold Scottish winter being the excuse for me! However, I just bought two new pairs that might well help me to stay stylish as they are so comfy. First I bought some Angulus boots - they are Danish and are know here for their kids shoes, but they also make women's shoes and they are amazingly comfortable and very hardwearing too. Also, I just got some Frye boots (Heath outside zip style) and they are very cushioned and fantastically comfortable as well. Both brands are v. expensive but I was fortunate enought to get them heavily discounted.

i just bought these to replace last years UGGly UGG's,they are by far more comfy,i wear them with skinny jeans or leggings mainly, but they look good with bootcuts too....
they even have a furry inside-like the UGG'S (though not as thick) so i even wear them with no socks if i'm rushing outBlush

i LOVE themGrin

Angulus . The website has an English page to explain where to look for women's boots (Dame Stovler).

Frye Heath. I got mine for £95 from Cocosa which is a flash sale website like Brand Alley.

I've just ordered some rocket dog Chelsea girl boots and considering some Ugg style rocket dogs - better sole for half the price IMO :).

I'm put off rocket dog boots, everyone I see wearing them seems to be walking on the sides of them iyswim.

Peggy - do it! They feel and smell so nice and they did a size 5 and half (which can be a struggle to find) seriously I am in love with these boots :o

If you want an Ugg-style boot, Bearpaws are so much better. They don't collapse round the ankle like Uggs.

Thanks I'll send my email address to you.

Want to step away from Ugg style tbh goblin but thanks Smile

Those Spanish riding boots are lovely, In fact I think I complemented a woman wearing them at a car boot sale a few weeks ago. I am going to start saving for them now.
