Straighteners

Mine are crap. They are Babyliss one's. I thought my fair was falling out last year but I think on reflection that my straighteners are just not really smooth enough and pull on the hair. The plates stand quite proud of the actaul unit IYSWIM.

DH, DM and MIL have all asked me what I want for xmas and my birthday is 14 days after. I realllllly want some new boots but they are £75.00 and I realllllly want some straighteners. Are GHD's the way to go? Is there a happy medium between my cack ones and GHD's which will allow me my boots and nice hair?

I've chopped my hair into a bob so I could get away with mini stylers if cheaper. Any advice?

Personally I would say GHD's are the only way to go. I've had other makes, some almost as expensive a GHD's but nothing compares to them! They are just better in everyway! Obviously the boots are far more practical, but if I had to choose I'd eek another year out of old boots to have lovely hair! (in defence of my vanity, my hair is absolutely wild. You'd notice my mental hair waaayyyy before shabbyish boots!) Smile

only straighteners worth buying are GHD's

I have GHD's and they are very good. Don't use them all the time but they give a great result.

You will waste money buying anything other than GHDs, as you will be disappointed and still have to buy the GHDs in the end. I have mad unruly hair, but with GHDs I have lovely swishy straight groomed-looking hair (well, as groomed-looking as possible) - as long as I stay out of the wind and rain.

Always GHDs. Nothing else is as good.

If you wanted to try some out you could always find some second hand reconditioned ones or second hand (ebay). They won't be guaranteed and GHDs are notorious for having faults unfortunately, but chances are you'll be fine and at least if you love them then you can get brand new ones at later date.

Right i'll ask for ghd's then and advise dh of the ebay thing. I need boots as im pregnant and living in trainers its not a good look. I need a shake up before dc2 arrives and i'm thinking boots will help.

If you found some bargain ones you could always get them fixed here

Damn I wish I'd ebayed my faulty GHDs years ago - I chucked them but people are selling broken ones on ebay for £30+ [hshock]

I meant to say bargain faulty ones that needed fixing.

GHD or Cloud 9 (by the original makers of GHD) are the best.
