Jeans for DH

Can I pick your brains on behalf of DH please. He desperately needs new jeans but we're struggling to find any that fit. He needs a 28" waist and no more than 30" leg length, pref shorter. Not too expensive (he tried some Levis that didn't quite work and turned White at the £90 price tag) though I think he'd stretch to paying a reasonable amount for a pair that fit well. Does anyone know of a mens shop that stock small smartish jeans for men? We've exhausted everything in our town and trips to London usually end up with us not knowing where to start. We've tried the "boys jeans" route but they are generally too trendy!

Last time I was in TK Maxx I noticed the men's jeans rail went down to a 28" waist. And being TK Maxx the prices aren't too scary!
