I know what I want, but it's not out there unless I trawl vintage fairs but i want it for when we go on hol in two weeks...

You know the 60's sort of short tulle / chiffony babydoll nighties that 60's housewives would wear, high thigh length , straps but no structure under bust, just sheer tulle straight down so they drape over boobs and just look .. floaty?

Pref a pale colour, the sheerer the better, and if you can push the boat and and find the big feathery trim at the botom the better!

Come on m'netters, you can do it!!

Have you checked places like Ann Summers or LoveHoney?

Hi Groak, I bought one earlier this year. It was for a show I was doing and had to be vintage.

I searched eBay and most websites that sold vintage nightwear. I eventually found one at Rokit (easy to find by google). Mine is baby pink, with gathered bust, secret support & floaty. It fitted me perfectly too, I am quite tall & didn't want a cheek skimmer. It comes to just above my knee. I'm a size 16 (I think the vintage sizing says 42"). It was £35 ...a bit steep I know.

Anyway, I don't need it anymore. If you want it PM me x

groak -do you mean you actually want it to be vintage or vintage style

(I read it as vintage style)

Northumberland lass, thanks for the offer, the only thing is I am barely pusing 5ft tall so if your babydoll comes to just above your knee, it will be mid shin on me and make me look like a victorian child going to bed. Not quite the look i was after, or dh grin

But thanks you very much for the offer!

Oh.. Ha, I'm 6 worries. If you want actual vintage (have to say nylon isn't the sexiest of materials), then there are loads about. X

Some on Etsy if you can be bothered to browse

All prices are in $ but there are often UK sellers on there, they just have to put prices in $ because it's an american site.

OMG - I had one of these back in the '60s, when I was about 8! My baby-doll nightie consisted of 2 layers of floaty nylon in a lovely shade of sky-blue, patterned all over with roses, and had a deep flouncy frill around the bottom. I thought it was THE MOST beautiful thing I'd ever seen and felt like a princess in it. I used to wear it with a matching blue satin ribbon bow in my hair.

It was an extra-small adult size. I was very tall and well-built for my age, so it was about knee-length on me.

Thanks for all the posts, the favourite I like best is the pink one bysaoirse86, it's that wispy floaty unstructured thing dh likes hmm , plus i have very big saggy boobs so anything that your boobs are supposed to sit 'in' like cups etc are sat on my chest while my boobs roll underneath them! blush

Wll have a quick scout this aft but may make a purchase. thanks you everyone for having a look for me. The blue one is very funny to look at as the woman is so busy pouting you can't see the nightie!!
