anybody help?

I'm a similar shape but a little taller.I've had great success at TK Maxx over the years.I buy a down and a wool coat every year there.I find that the german and italian brand coats fit me much better than uk sizes. It takes a good 2 hours trying on lots of coats to find the right one though.Don't buy online from there as sometimes the sizes are completely different to uk sizes. Also M & S have some good coats this year.I love the chocolate parka in the petite range.

Thanks Teta funnily enough i tried tk maxx today.Didnt find anything i liked it was all either puffa style or fur or grey wool.Really fancied a brightly coloured one this year .

Uniclo for their down coats?

See this ongoing thread about North Face jackets...v warm!

Second Uniqlo, I have a down jacket from there that just covers my bum (i'm 5'4) and it is super toasty. Also only £80 - here

Uniqlo looks like a pigs ear on me.The shapes just look totally wrong. The puffas make me look shapeless and like i'm wearing a duvet.I think i'm square-shaped and so i need very specific cuts.Nobodys Fool, Edina Ronay have several wool coats in red, pink and purple online at Tk Maxx.I always find the cut really good for my shape .But exactly what sort of coat do you want?.

nobodysfool Sun 09-Oct-11 21:38:25

Firstly, thankyou for all your ideas.I like the Northface one but cant afford that.Puffa jackets look odd on me and make me look even bulkier.
I really dont know what sort of coat i want apart from i would like it very warm, belt or fitted and pref a hood.I like to wear colourful clothes and something different from what all my friends wear...the search continues.

If you put "petite" in the search category you'll get more options too
