Is it a bit tacky?

I'm going to a wedding in a few weeks and I though that instead of buying another dress I would wear one I already have.

I have a LBD which I love the shapre of (although since having my colour's done I now know I shouldn't really wear black!). I recently got www.kurtgeiger.com/darcy-25.html these georgeous leopard print shoes and I'm looking for an excuse to wear them so what I need to know is do you think it would be really over the top and tacky to wear it all with a nice fake fur jacket? Something like this or maybe this

i also have my eye on this georgeous bag - too much do you think?

My other thought was to maybe team the dress with a bright coloured pashmina and shoes but I'd really like to wear my Kurt geiger shoes and I'd be super cosy and warm in a faux fur jacket Grin

I think it sounds lovely for a winter wedding. I love a bit of fake fur & animal print Grin. I prefer the grey coat. I have a beautiful one from M&S of all places & I wore it loads last winter. Zara have some lovely faux shearling scarves/wraps in atm if you fancy something you can keep on inside too.

Oh erm, it's erm... erm... different?

I love the bag but think it's too much all together. Maybe 1 feature point would be quite striking?

I normally don't like leopard print but those shoes are lovely. With the cream coat, too. The bag would be overkill I think. How about something black?

NOT TOGETHER! Love all the items separately but will be overload altogether. The shoes and dress would look fab but go for a non animal print clutch?

OR

You could do the jacket and clutch but then non animal print shoes?

Don't do the grey jacket, it doesn't work with the shoes at all. I think the first jacket and not the bag.

Maybe the shoes (and bag?) but without the jacket. Perhaps a plain cardi instead, the beigey colour as in the shoes.

How about the shoes and the coat. I get really cold Wink

I wasn't especially thinking all 3 together - even I agree that is overkill Smile

If no to the coat what can I wear that will go with the dress, shoes and perhaps the bag and keep me super snug and warm but also looking lovely and chic?

I'm thinking of going from a brown / beige coat (rather than the grey - that was more for style than colour) as they are "my colours" and will complement the shoes. I don't want to go dressed head to toe in black either as 1. It's not my colour and 2. I don't really like wearing black to weddings.

The dress assuming it's relatively simple with the fake fur coat (beige or cream) and those shoes(Envy) and a simple clutch will look really good in a 1950's starlet kinda way. I get it.

I love my black dress - is it simple and classic and a georgeous fit. It's a French Connection dress from about 3 (?) years ago. It has cap sleeves, a sweetheart neckline and then sort of A Line skirt just above the knee.

Then I think that will look great. Have fun at the wedding.

Agree with HotBurrito1; the shoes and a fake-fur coat would be fab (although coatwise I'd go for white, not beige or grey) and either v short and swingy, almost more of a cape, or v long, Cruella de Ville stylee).

Bagwise I'd go for a clutch in a bright colour ? red, to warm the whole thing up? But with black, white and leopard (which I'm counting as a neutral), you could go for any colour clutch.

ah ha - found it <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=french+connection+solar+dress&hl=en&gbv=2&biw=1280&bih=941&tbm=isch&tbnid=TFJk-rfSHhqAYM:&imgrefurl=www.box-clothing.co.uk/womens-2/dresses-skirts-68/dresses-69/french-connection-womens-155949.htm&docid=1J-hI5O0oKRHrM&w=326&h=326&ei=0qyNTrGfH8T1-gaQhL3SCg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=194&vpy=289&dur=3750&hovh=225&hovw=225&tx=116&ty=118&page=1&tbnh=147&tbnw=176&start=0&ndsp=39&ved=1t:429,r:8,s:0" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">this is the balck dress - wish I'd brought it in white now too!

I wouldn't put red with it! Red and black is not a great combination.

saoirse86 · 06/10/2011 14:32

What about something like this?

Report
sweetheart · 06/10/2011 14:41

Hmm I think I like that - I'm not sure? I'm quite large of arse so I'm not sure it would flatter my shape? Also I prefer it in the beige colour on the sidebar but can't seem to actually order that one??? With 25% off it would be worth ordering just to try it and see.

I wouldn't do black red and leopard print - I'd feel a bit slutty. What about a gold bag?

Love the shoes but one 'bold' thing is classy, more than one is brassy Grin

So go with the shoes but not the other 'accessories' IMO

My first thought was Bet Lynch too but I didn't want to be rude.....
Fab shoes
Not keen on the jacket at all
Clutch might be overkill together with the shoes.

Fab shoes, love the bag too though maybe not together. I hate, with a passion, fake fur. It always looks plasticy, and I hate the feel of it. Not many things in this life I hate but fake fur is one of them.

Don't listen to them sweetheart, they're just jealous they didn't get the shoes Grin

I think that dress with the shoes, coat and a simple clutch (maybe something black with black sequins / plain one colour) would work.

Love those shoes!
