New size, new shape....help!

I used to be really confident in what I wore. I was a size 18 (pre pregnancy), but that never bothered me (except for the occasional day or two) and I always felt smart and well dressed.

I now have a new baby (DC3 is 4wks) and have dropped to a post pregnancy (rather flabby) size 14/16. My waist is smaller, tummy still there but smaller, boobs still the same (36G) and I seem to have lost all my confidence.

DC3's baptism is in 3wks time and I dont know what to wear. i would like a dress (have always loved dresses) but unsure of shape. Please Help!!!

Sorry should add, I have pale toned skin and dark brown shoulder length hair.

Are you breastfeeding?If so, that might dictate the style.. Wrap dresses are good for this, or something with a draped neckline.What is your budget?If it's any consolation I think that whatever size you are post-baby everything changes and it is normal to feel a bit unsure.Although I have gone back to my normal size(10) the types of clothes I have to wear now are so different due to breastfeeding/ease of washing/flat shoes for buggy pushing/crawling around playgroup floors that I too feel in a bit of a style wilderness.For the past 2/1/2 years I have been either pregnant or breastfeeding and had to completely rethink what to buy & wear

Also, was going to say, I had to go to a wedding when DS2 was 10 weeks and had a similar problem of what to wear.I went for a free personal shopper session in Debenhams, did n't actually buy anything there as didn't like anything they chose but it gave me some ideas.Lots of department stores do it and it means you can sit with your baby and have a coffee whilst someone runs around the shop looking for suitable dresses to fit your needs.It might be a good place to start though, good luck

Thanks downpipe. I am just home and bought this dress. It looks nice enough on, and is ideal for feeding! Think I will feel better when I tone up a bit and get used to the new slimmer me... I still reach for larger sizes in shops etc.
