Are these boots just really horrible?

I bought these boots last year before I discovered S & B. Are they mum boots? I am having some doubts about them now!

Bunbaker Sat 01-Oct-11 10:44:27

I like them, but I'm no fashion leader!

Intersat Sat 01-Oct-11 10:47:39

I'm not either! smile

spatchcock Sat 01-Oct-11 12:08:16

I like them too, but I'm a fashion numpty also.

Intersat Sat 01-Oct-11 12:56:38

Hmm maybe this is where people who are not so knowledgeable about style can come and admire other people's less stylish offers (unless someone in the know comes along and they are indeed repectable boots). Or would that defeat the purpose of the forum grin

Fluffycloudland77 Sat 01-Oct-11 17:39:37

The heel is a little clumpy.

DrNortherner Sat 01-Oct-11 17:41:24

They are from Clarks. They are mum boots. Tis the Clarks law.

ChippingIn Sat 01-Oct-11 17:43:29

Undiscovering S&B would be good for your sanity I think. You bought them because you like them - why do you need to have the approval of a bunch of internet sprites?

I think they are fine - I wouldn't buy them because I'm not keen on the detailing or the heel - but so what, you are wearing them, not me and they aren't exactly granny shoes or anything.

QuinnFabray Sat 01-Oct-11 17:59:22

I like them and I am mega cool. No really, I am.

stripeybump Sat 01-Oct-11 18:03:13

They're nice. Not earth-shatteringly gorgeous IMO, but nice and they'll last smile

I'd wear them happily. Not sure I'd buy them unless they were on sale or something but them I'm like that with most clothing so it's not a reflection on the boots!

scarlettsmummy2 Sat 01-Oct-11 18:13:03

They are fine for work, but I wouldn't wear them for casual. I prefer brown boots for everything non-work.

Intersat Sat 01-Oct-11 19:06:08

You may be right ChippingIn. I think I am worrying too much about it. A few long threads about mum boots has me looking at them a bit too hard smile

Thanks for your opnions everyone thanks

They are comfy boots BeerTricksPotter

ChippingIn Sat 01-Oct-11 19:13:17

You're welcome smile

Enjoy wearing them!

Pinkflipflop Sat 01-Oct-11 19:17:09

I haven't read any of the other answers! You must post what you will wear them with!!

That's the mumsy decider!!

Intersat Sun 02-Oct-11 08:22:17

I was planning on wearing them with knitted dresses and maybe shortish skirts and jumpers Pinkflipflop. Depends what shortish skirts look like on me these days. It's been ages since I wore dresses or skirts. I have been sticking mostly with jeans and trainers because they are comfy and an easy choice but I feel like I want to expand my wardrobe a bit now DD is growing up.

MissVerinder Sun 02-Oct-11 08:41:51

They are nice.

Ifancyashandy Sun 02-Oct-11 08:47:03

They're ok. Tad clumpy / mum boot for me but if you like them! I've seen far worse!

Bunbaker Sun 02-Oct-11 12:00:43

I don't get this "mum boot" thing. I work in an office where we have people of all ages. These boots wouldn't look out of place. I assume that those people who post snide remarks about "mumsy" style footwear wear killer heels all the time or expensive branded footwear.

Just ignore them. I do.

Ifancyashandy Sun 02-Oct-11 14:47:28

It's not 'snide', it's personal taste. On MN it's a recognised term that people understand and we were asked for our opinions afterall.

RufousBartleby Sun 02-Oct-11 15:01:34

Don't worry OP, I think they're fine - I own far worse! But then I am a practical sort, who likes to get from A to B at speed.

JohnHemmingsPussy Sun 02-Oct-11 15:02:50

northener is wrong with clarks edict

DrNortherner Sun 02-Oct-11 15:42:09

Wrong? Moi? <never>

Show me a stylish pair from Clarks and I'll show my arse in Woolworths window.

Intersat Sun 02-Oct-11 16:01:49

I stumbled into Style and Beauty by accident too RufousBartleby smile Now I know what shoe boots and jeggings are (but don't question my knowledge too closely). I also have loads of ideas for new shops to visit.

DrNortherner, is that promise about Woolworths because you know they have shut all their shops grin
