So I've bought a biker jacket...

I bought this jacket today, I know it's not real leather, but I can't afford real, and it's a damn good imitation. But now I need advice on how to wear it!

So far, I'm thinking dark jeans with high heeled boots, and maybe some sort of patterned scarf, but beyond that, need ideas!

N.B. This is part of my new project to look more 'grown-up' (I'm 30, but look much younger, and hate it)

You could throw it on over anything.
Dresses, leggings, black cigarette pants, black jeans, black jeggings - anything really.

Thanks, I was worried it was going to get slated for being 'faux' leather! It's not my usual style, so was a bit unsure, but feel better now!

I got a fake leather one from Next a few years ago - and tbh - I don't think many people would know the diff.
I got quite a few dresses from Mint Velvet and Asos - all kind of greys/lilacs - all need to be worn with leggings and boots though.
A nice big scarf and nice boots and leggings and the jacket - really makes the 'whatever' underneath kind of obsolete. I only take time for the 'underneath' when I'll be taking my jacket off!
I got a pair of M&S jeggings - think Autograph or LE - that were quite thick and have kind of biker seams down them - they look nice with the jacket and a chiffony top from H&M (the jeggings have a proper waistband - so doens't have o be covered iykwim.

These are what I wear with my black jeggings www.hm.com/gb/product/93402?article=93402-E#article=93402-A They are kind of see through so I have a shaping camisole top which also sooks everything in (skin tone from M&S)

I have a faux leather jacket and wore it with everything really. Skinny cargos and biker boots, jeans, with big scarves and flat caps. We're coming into summer now (NZ) so will wear in spring with tea-dresses

Hi TracyK, just had a look at those H&M tops, both really nice, I don't own anything like that, but I think they'd suit me. Good prices too! I always get put off H&M as the clothes always seem all squashed together, so it's hard to see things properly. I love the green colour of the first top! Pardon my ignorance, but would it look ok sticking out below the biker jacket? I'm not very good at imagining these things.

I think if you rumfled the top a wee bit - a skinny belt - rather than hanging straight down - or if you could tuck it in somehow - would be fine.
If you register with the H&M website - you'll get emails sometimes with 10% codes or free P&P's - worth doing.
And get the catalogue sent to you - I usually just order online - they have a better range of sizes than in store. Although my local store is massive and really well spaced inside - so its nice to go into too.
