Anyone ever dyed suede shoes themself?

I have done it years ago - it used to work quite well but I only ever home-dyed to black.
I remember it was a dye that you painted on, but it sank into the suede so there'd be a possibility of patchiness if you weren't careful to keep the layers even.

Yes, I used to do this when I was a wardrobe mistress. Dark brown or navy would probably be quite easy. It's paler colours that are hard. You want Fiebings Suede Dye (you'll probably have to order it online). It's what the professionals use and is tons better than any other make.

Actually, if it's taupe, navy may go a bit wrong. The dye is transparent. Brown will probably work better.
