I bought these today...I should take them back, shouldn't I?

these

For work. I can't do heels, and it's getting too autumnal for ballet pumps.

But I feel like Richard Gere in Chicago. Or a tall Sandi Toksvig. Sad

My legs are too short and stumpy.

What should I get instead?

Shameless bump for attention.

What about a blocky heeled loafer? Marks do them too

rockinastocking · 24/09/2011 18:53

Even too wimpy for blocky heels.

I get achey balls (arf)

Are they truly awful?

I hate those shoes - sorry. What about some kind of loafers?

Flat boots?

I wear brogues but I am tall with slimmish legs (sorry)

If with trousers I think they would be okay. But not tights and skirts if you are stumpyfied

I do have some great boots. But I can't wear them every day, and they don't work with smart trousers.

They ming, don't they? Grin

I thought I'd try to wear them ironically.

But I'm not seventeen and thin. So that won't work.

I'm not a brogue fan.

what about more of a flat boot?

Dolallytats · 24/09/2011 18:56

I'd say anything is better than those.....sorry, but they're not very nice!!!! What about a flat boot, either ankle or calf? I wear ballet pumps all year round...

I think I am stumpy.

Five foot seven, size 12-14, 30 inch legs.

That's quite stumpy, non?

made me laugh the Sandi Toksvig comment
They are awful though. think the shiny effect makes them worse

My dd wears things like that - but she is 16, skinny and 5'8. I would look ridiculous in them.

Report
cyb · 24/09/2011 18:58

Thats not stumpy. But there ARE nicer brogues around if you want them. I actually prefer a chunkier one

rockinastocking · 24/09/2011 18:58

The thing is, they're sold out online.

But I've never seen anyone wearing them.

Do you think they're being bought up by am dram societies for future productions of Chicago?

I thought the patent would stop them being so...butch.

It doesn't.

lots of people like them on the reviews. if you wear them with wide leg trousers they would prob be ok. Grin

Sorry. I don't do heels but I also think they are really awful.
Flat knee high boots? Maybe a touch of a wedge?

They're the sort of thing my hairdresser wears, but she is petite and funky.

When will I learn to accept my limitations?

I'm going to have a play with them later - try them on with stuff to prove they look shit

OMG _ I had an identivcal pair in the 80s - when I was 16....

I used to wear them with leggings and a huge man's shirt and waistcoat.

IThat prety much tells you all you need to know about those shoes.
They would look cool will wide legged jeans or trews, but make sure the top is a little feminine.

I could keep them and start a Bananarama tribute band.

Anyone fancy joining? I'll be Siobhan.
