Black/brown boots - knee highs? Mid calf?

I am after some new boots, I want them for work and to wear out and about, something glam and gorgeous with a heel. Are knee high boots really awful? Should I stick with mid calf? Please give me some suggestions

Are knee-high boots considered beyond the pale now???? I have both lengths. Depends what else I'm wearing & what the occasion is. I have big calves (calfs?) so it's something I have to put a bit of thought into. My new mid-calf boots just arrived this morning from Duo - can't wait to wear them but the weather refuses to turn cold!

Really sorry OP: I think I've murdered your thread. I am the [struggles to find name of female murderer that won't cause offence] of threads...

Which style scampadoodle?

OP - I would suggest Duo. I don't think knee highs are awful at all but will be interested in the opinions of others!

I looking at the UGG Bellvue, they can be worn high or low. (pics always help)

Not to tight a fit either
Bit pricey at £225 RRP but outlets are normally £100 than that...

I love knee high boots-especially very high heeled ones. But sadly as rarely go anywhere glam I stick to sensible school run bootsSad
New Look have gorgeous real suede knee highs with a block heel. They have them in black and a sort of deep red-lovely. They only £50 but am hoping they reduce them as seem to have loads left on the shelves!

Millie I got Bern in tan. They're to replace a pair of Berns I bought 3 or 4 years ago & wore to death. They're nice & clumpy so balance out my legs (I'm quite slim apart from them!); look great under trousers/jeans but also with knee-length skirts, without looking prissy IYSWIM.

I went into the shop yesterday to try on & order & they arrived today, & free delivery too.
