Hmm. Had a quick glance.
Most of it is frumpy. There are some nice items too but they are rather plain.

Some good stuff in Canvas - got a fab huge cardi/coat in sale and nice chinos.....lots of people rate the kids stuff and the swimwear..

ggirl Tue 20-Sep-11 09:17:11

some good stuff
have had a few good coats from them , not the height of fashion but excellent quality
have also got some stuff for ds that's very nice
have been looking at their jeans/chinos and may try them
have been pondering these in walnut

largeginandtonic Tue 20-Sep-11 09:19:23

Kids stuff is great, excellent quality.

Sometimes i think a few of the adult bits look ok. Bit frumpy like others have said.

moondog Tue 20-Sep-11 09:20:50

Hmm..
Ggirl, you are inching into middle aged mom from Utah there m'girl.
Step away.

ggirl Tue 20-Sep-11 09:22:32

lol
you're right ...had an inkling ,will be sporting wolf fleece before I know it

moondog Tue 20-Sep-11 09:23:05

grin

I've had some comfy (sorry) shoes from there - more classic styles (loafers) than frumpy - and they do my poor old painful feet the world of good.

ChessPiece Tue 20-Sep-11 09:26:45

Oh and also some plain long sleeved T's and V-neck jumpers in the sale - v good quality and wash well.

ggirl Tue 20-Sep-11 09:30:27

ah but look are they that different to these mango ones
except more £££
tis maybe the way they style them?? or rather not style them

ggirl Tue 20-Sep-11 09:31:28

actually looking again ....both are shit

sprogger Tue 20-Sep-11 09:33:24

Where I come from, that's suburban dressing. "Rambling" requires this. grin

As has largeginandtonic says, the children's clothing is good quality and a fine source of basics like leggings, tops and jeans. My only cautious observation about it is that their little girl shorts are really QUITE short, which is odd given how covered up the adult clothing is.

moondog Tue 20-Sep-11 09:33:41

Nooooooo.
Mango cut is at least trendy (although still have to factor in issue of wearing turd brown.)

CMOTdibbler Tue 20-Sep-11 09:35:11

Stuff may not be high fashion, but is great quality and well cut. You can't beat their cold weather gear - my long down coat is the dogs doodahs

kat2504 Tue 20-Sep-11 09:35:58

I like some of the shoes, the flat pumps I got from them aaages ago are very comfy and still going strong. I've never bought clothes from them though.

moondog Tue 20-Sep-11 09:39:44

I guarantee in every airport in the world there is a rather old but v healthy American couplde wearing top to toe LE (that and the tiny Asian lady in white sari and thick glasses in a wheelchair or one of those electric buggies).

The boys' stuff is good, but I need at least another 20 years before I start thinking the women's stuff is OK.

ggirl Tue 20-Sep-11 09:45:30

ah yes American travellers...always look comfy ..but shit

polyhymnia Tue 20-Sep-11 09:50:09

I find their stuff generally very frumpy and 'sensible' and avoid. Did buy a good chevron down coat from them last winter though - not sort of thing I'd usually contemplate but the cold mad me reconsider and I was pleased with it - warm and not too Michelin-man like.

talkingnonsense Tue 20-Sep-11 10:23:44

I have a fleece dressing gown and it is fantastic- instant full
Length warmth, but not trendy!

kerrymumbles Tue 20-Sep-11 10:24:30

all the preppies wear land's end. typical new englander sort (grew up there)

LukeWarmMomma Tue 20-Sep-11 10:25:58

CMOT I know from previous posts of yours that we live in the same area! I've also got the long down coat! so I shall keep a eye out for you this winter smile (in a non-stalking manner, of course). Got to agree that the coat in marvellous, if I hadn't had broken my ankle last winter and been confined to the house for weeks during the cold weather I would have been happily skipping around wearing my fabby coat nice and toasty warm.

daenerysstormborn Tue 20-Sep-11 10:34:07

lands end is good for coats and kids clothing, that's all. both my best waterproof/school run coats come from there, but i have the advantage of living very near one of their discount shops, everything is knockdown prices in there.
